Thanx к Slees, мы no longer должны не потревожиться о тех so-called «родовой хозяин для ошибок процесса Win32» и «svchost.exe» которые haunt наше Windows XP почти ежедневно (if not вылечено). Под я объясню будет симптомами этой злейшей проблемы и как легко оно может быть фикчированн: 
Симптомы:
- Вы surfing интернет или включены любому типу деятельности при интернета когда неожиданно полностью ваша деятельность при сети пойдет к hault. Вы можете неподвижно увидеть икону соединенную интернетом в подносе но вы не можете surf, browse или не делаете что-нибыдь.
- Вы получаете сообщению ошибки что-то как «родовой хозяин, котор процесс для обслуживаний Win32 сталкивался проблема и нужно закрыть. Мы огорченны для неудобства.»
- Сообщение ошибки сообщая о ошибаться netapi32.dll и svchost.exe.
- Вы пытаетесь отключить ваш интернет из-за никакой наблюдаемой RABOTы но икона интернета не исчезнет.
- Вы получаете сообщение ошибки что-то как «ваш, котор пикокулон брал от cEtc серьезной проблемы».
Разрешение:
Последуйте за этими просто шагами и ваше Windows полно будет вылечено этого menace 
Близкий порт 445:
1. Начните редактора регистратуры (Regedit.exe) путем щелкать меню старта, и после этого щелкните иконой бега.
2. В малой коробке раскрывает, тип: regedit после этого щелкает ОДОБРЕННОЙ кнопкой. Редактор регистратуры теперь раскроет.
3. Обнаружьте местонахождение following ключа в регистратуре:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESystemCurrentControlSetServicesNetBTParameters
В right-hand стороне находки окна вариант вызвал TransportBindName.
Двойной click оценивает, и после этого уничтожает автоматически принимаемое значение, таким образом дающ ему пустое значение.
Близкий порт 135:
1. После этого вы должны теперь navigate к following ключу регистратуры:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESoftwareMicrosoftOLE
2. Вы увидите вызванное значение шнура: EnableDCOM
Установите значение к: N (должно в настоящее время быть y)
3. Закройте редактора регистратуры. Выключение и повторяет старт вашего компьютера.
Добро все но если вы хотите, то вы можете вывести NETbios из строя.

but i am facing new error when i m tring to see the workgroup computer i m not able to see any machine to workgroup and that machines cannot be seen from any machine i have roll back the action now i m able to see the workgroup machines but i m facing host error please give any solution on this

The Fix worked for me like a charm 
There’s more to be added. For instance, the Power Supply service that dumps (exceptionally) a “svchost.exe” file in C:\Windows\ is also a source of generating that error. I’ve encountered the error still, even after applying all the existent fixes around the net. Thing is - you need only 5 running svchosts
P.S.: That one was not a virus
I have been getting complains that after applying the instructed fix people see that their Lan Network is no more accessible

I tried every fix there is in the INTERNET and even fixes from MICROSOFT. BUT IT DID NOT HELP A LOT. It got worse, every PC in the entire network cannot access the server and all the PCs are receiving Work Offline messages and encountering resources are not available because of the Generic Host Win32 Process error.
I tried every fix there is but still to no avail, it cannot seem to be fixed by any hot fix or patches and even from Microsoft.
My boss gave me a warning about my job in jopardy and I don’t think it is no longer good for my career right now with my current company due to such menacing bug with Windows Server 2003.
Does anyone from you guys, (except Microsoft who cannot help me at this moment) has any permanent solution for it.

does anyone remember the string name that was in step one that was being instructed to delete? This fix did help fix the problem but like other ppl i cant see the rest of the network anymore. If anyone can remember what they deleted from step one that would be great. (it was seomthing like “/xxxx/”

The reason that you are loosing visibility to LAN pc’s is because you are blocking port 445. Port 445 is used by Win2000/2003/XP for File and Print sharing. If you are not going to be mapping to other PC’s on a LAN then this fix will work fine. Otherwise you should really only block these ports from the internet. There is some more information here…

I followed your step by step provision Dj Flush, and the Generic Error has been gone ever since!
Now I can’t connect to some servers with certain programs. Similar problem as mentioned above. There was a link provided by OvRiDe, but that page can’t be displayed.
Any alternative solutions would be thankfully taken!
well where to locate port 135 and port 445, i am working in the home and not attached to any server or lan in the network, i am connected to the internet via bsnl broad band,

I found a somewhat 50-50 solution. I changed back the value N to Y and rebooted. Now I can connect again with all programs. And I got the program Zone Alert which manage the access of programs connection to the internet.
I still hope you find a solution to the Generic Error.
Its really working, but this is only the solution. Why this problem occured, no answer about this. I have changed my partition table as well as HDD too.

nalini There is no such thing as “disable the registry” unless you want limited account to not be able to access the registry. That is done by Windows XP automatically thanks to the permission manager. You don’t need to worry at all.
Try this and see if it works. I have tested it on my Windows XP machine.
1. Go to Start -> Run and type gpedit.msc. This will open Group Policy Windows.
2. Navigate to User Configuration -> Administrative Templates -> System -> Prevent access to registry editing tool.
3. Then Click on “Prevent access to registry editing tool” and select “Enabled” under Setting Tab and Click Apply and then OK.
4. Now try to edit the registry and You will see this error “Registry Editing has been disabled by your Administrator“.

Alin I guarantee you both have no relation. Generic host fix and yahoo messenger problem are two totally different things buddy.

My symptoms are a bit different than some of the symptoms I’ve seen…
I too get the Generic Host error randomly, sometimes I see it some times I don’t. However, even when I don’t see it, I still cannot access WINXP Firewall!! Connecting to the internet seems to be fine even when the error is displayed, I can still connect to the internet…

hi, I juz reformated my comp and I have the same problem too. I have just tried your method closing the 2 ports. I hope it works, and if it does work I will surely post up here again.
My symptoms is pretty much like PAUL’s. My XP Firewall wont work and the Generic Host Error comes up randomly. Just that when the error comes up, I have problem with my internet connections. Unlike him who says his internet connection still goes when the Generic Host encounters error.
Paul, are you sure your internet connection works just fine when the error pops up? And even 10 minutes after the error remain there?
Generic Host Process does all the networking/internet/IP/TCPIP/ bla bla bla for your system. If it encounter error, your internet connection should be disturbed.
Anyway I hope your way works for me Flush!

I have a prob while connecting my 2 PCs via a cross wire.
I did the IP configuration and it shows tat the 2 PCs are connected but wen I try to view PC 2 from PC 1 or vice versa through network neighbor hood I amm unable to see the computers…and neither can I exchange data…
I wanted to connect my both PCs together to use one broadband connection and access Internet in both and also to exchange data within themselves

Hi…the host error is fixed…but I am getting problems with my network. No workgroup computers is shown in my network place and I cant connect to the other PCs & vice versa. Please help me and tell me what to do?
ratheesh very unfortunately this is the only solution we have got to remove the host error and after applying this fix you start getting problems with your local area network.
I don’t think so there is any other way round unless someone comes up with a more solid and stable solution.
I tried every method listed and still am getting the same errors “Fix Generic Host For Win32″ and “Svchost.exe Error” only that the frequency of occurance is low. This problem comes only when the computer is connected to the cable modem. Can some one help me?

I have a PC with Windows XP install on it. I get the Generic host process error very often. This seems to happen mostly when i start my Yahoo Messenger and chat. It is very sporadic. There are times when I do not get this error for weeks, and there are days when i get it 3 -4 times within 1 hour.

Hi. I’m not getting the svchost.exe error that some of you are, but I’ve been having the random loss of internet connection (with no apparent router/modem issues), high CPU usage, processes hanging on shutdown, etc. Have run all sorts of anti-malware/virus scans with nothing found.

Also I would like to ask you…what do you know about temp2.exe error…which appears when I log on.
The fix worked for me, but there is another issue with it, I lost my home network and cannot see the computer connected to the network though I can ping them successfully.
Ok, try this, use DJ Flush’s method as above first.
Then download microsoft’s support patch and restart.

I tried to do this, but when I write regedit and press return I get “Registry editing has been disabled by your administrator”.
I have no idea what that means. I am the only one using this computer, and I wouldn’t know how to disable registry editing even if I wanted to.

Let me say right off the bat that closing the ports seems to have worked for me. My computer has been on and connected to the Internet for quite a while now, and no error. Thank you very much, Dj Flush.
I’ll describe the symptoms and the solution that worked for me, in case it helps anyone.
if my computer was connected to the network, eventually (sometimes as little as 10 minutes after turning it on, sometimes 20 or half an hour) the dreaded generic host error would appear. I use DC++ to connect to a local hub; after the error I was still able to connect to the hub and see everyone there, I just couldn’t download anything. Also, something went wrong with my sound. After the error, whenever I tried to adjust my volume by using the speaker icon at the lower right corner of the screen, I got a message like “no mixer devices installed”. My internet connection, however, was perfectly fine even after the error (and this doesn’t seem to have been just temporary; it worked fine even 5 hours after getting the error).
When I tried to close those two ports, I found that I couldn’t access my registry. Apparently, this is because of a worm called Brontok. Anyway, I looked around on the web and found this:

It’s a Visual Basic script that fixes the disabled registry. You right-click on the link “Download” you see there, save the file anywhere you want, and then run that file (double-click it). They say you should then restart and the registry will be fine, but this is not the case for me; it works without restarting (i.e. Start -> Run -> regedit works as it should again), and if I restart it stops working and I have to run the script again. This is because of that trojan I mentioned, which disables my registry at startup.
Then I closed the two ports exactly as explained above, and that’s that. I should also mentioned that I tried some of the alternative solutions posted in the other topic (I patched with Microsoft updates and also what was there solution #2, with the cmd and netsh thing), but that did not work out.
Unfortunately that registry key is needed to use netbios, but the good thing is all you have to do is disable file and printer sharing and it will stop most netbios attacks, I wouldnt worry about that port unless you have file and printer sharing enabled.
Some computers cant view other computers unless you have a network crossover cable, which is a special type of cable that is used for networking computers.
Finally! Slees You are my hero! I have been searching for months for a solution to the Generic Host Process Error! Thank you, thank you, thank you!!

Hello, this is the best solution for the “Generic Host Process for Win 32 services” error that I discovered recently.
After 36 hours of no sleep at all in my innumerable attempts to fix this damn “Generic Host Process for Win32″ error of my Windows XP SP2, here’s what I did after tinkering around the configurations. This was the only fi /solution that made that error never show up again (I tell you, those Microsoft hot fixes/updates are useless, even the “port-closer” programs are ineffective, too. This problem isn’t caused by a virus, either)
Try this solution
1. Turn on your Windows Firewall, and turn off Automatic Updates. Even though you have turned this thing off, you still have to follow the next steps.
2. Right-click My Computer and click Services. If you want the long way around, go to Control Panel, double-click Administrative Tools, then double click Services.
3. Double-click Automatic Updates.
4. If it is running, click Stop.
5. On the Startup Type drop-down menu, select Disabled.
6. Click Apply, then click OK.
Reboot your computer and observe if the error will show up again. (Chances are, it will not do so, anymore!)
Optional: Download a copy of the SafeXP program and install it to your computer. (You can find this program on the Internet). Once installed, open it from Control Panel, apply its recommended settings and reboot your computer.
I hope that this solution I discovered will make everyone’s Windows XP SP2 free from the damn “Generic Host Process for Win32″ error!
If my above fix / solution works for you, let us know as soon as possible.
I have encounter error with generic host win32, but now still have errors with svchost.exe “ox7c9105f8 reference memory 0×00000010…and my computer hanging.

If the Generic Host rendered your sound useless, re-enable it through,
1) Run
2) Type services.msc
3) Go windows audio, and press started.
4) Select recovery tab, and click first failure as restart service.
At least any service that the windows audio dependent on will restart it self if svchost crash.

You can also download the winsock fix and run it and it should take care of the problem. It is a free utility it fixed mine and it works fantastic but I run Windows XP so you would need winsockxpfix
