How to Enable Multi Google Talk On Windows?

Google Talk

Google Talk

If you are going to say that you don't have a Google account seriously no one is going to trust you and even after that if you say that you don't even use Google Talk then must surely be joking.

But my friend Haris from SizzledCore has something more to share than just using Google Talk

Enable Multi Google Talk

Often we always have 2 email accounts. One for business and official purposes and one for family friends and personal needs and managing both is one hell of a task. But if both of your accounts are Google Mail Accounts the problem of managing and communicating using both your Gmail accounts is solved all thanks to Haris

You don't need to login an logout every time you switch your Google accounts. A very simple command line parameter in Google Talk shortcut can do the job for you.

To enable the Multi Google Talk tweak just do the following steps:

  1. Create an easy shortcut to Google Talk on your Windows Desktop
  2. Right click on the shortcut and click properties. The Target box will show you the path of the EXE for Google Talk - something like "C:Program FilesGoogleGoogle Talkgoogletalk.exe"
  3. Just change this to: "C:Program FilesGoogleGoogle Talkgoogletalk.exe /nomutex"
  4. Now Relax and Enjoy

Now you can login with as many Google Mail accounts as you like

A Big Thank You to Haris for sharing the tweak with us

    Hey Thanks!

A correction  – Instead of changing the shortcut’s target address [it will give errors of PATH NOT FOUND sometime] , make a new shortcut by Right clicking the desktop and then NEW >> Shortcut . Then browse to the Gtalk file and then add the /nomutex to the end. The url will look like Gtalk-path” /nomutex

Thanks again for sharing this wonderful tip.
