Microsoft Drops Hints about Internet Explorer 8

Internet Explorer Family

Microsoft has served a lot to the Internet Explorer family. Internet Explorer is still the largest used web browser around the world. But in the past some years due to some of its security flaws and other random bugs it is looked down upon by a large number of users. Most developers, rather all developers do not like Internet Explorer but due to its greater use it is always considered as the web page or application is bound to be compatible with Internet Explorer.

Browser Revolution by Firefox

Firefox revolutionized the Internet market with its great unique features and accessibility. After the release of Firefox a great number of potential users had to change from IE to Firefox thus the Internet Explorer web industry was hurt a lot.

Internet Explorer 7 was designed to give Internet Explorer users a new advancement and a new way to surf and communicate with the web. However Firefox 2 was always there to beat Internet Explorer 7 out of the Browser industry in which it proved really successful.

Internet Explorer 8

Though the extinction of Microsoft Internet Explorer is inevitable, with the advent of new modern browsers in which Firefox is top at the list, still Microsoft has no plans to give up and recently Microsoft has dropped some hints about Internet Explorer 8.

According to Ars Technica

“It is believed that Internet Explorer 8 will include support for microformats, small tags embedded in HTML code that can be interpreted in various ways by software, such as calendar events or contact information. Microformat support is scheduled for Firefox 3, so IE 8 will have to include them in order to keep up. The new version may also include more options for user interface customization, as that was one of the biggest criticisms of IE 7, and one which the developers often blamed on lack of time.”

Still the timeline for Internet Explorer 8 is not available yet but Microsoft drops hint that another one year would required for its development.
