Wordpress Plugin: Automattic Stats

Guess what dear Bloggers? Wordpress.com has a treat for us and that is no ordinary treat. Indeed it is a fact that finding a good stats plugin for tracking wordpress blog traffic is a really difficult task. Unless you are relying on Google Analytics which is in my opinion not a good stats meter in terms for a wordpress power blog.

Automattic Stats

Now you don’t need to go here and there to search for more complicated and in-depth stats plugin for your wordpress powered blog. Wordpress.com has made its stats plugin available for download even to those who host a remote blog on self-hosted platforms.

The stats plugin was the most famous thing for Wordpress.com bloggers after the dashboard home. Now self-hosted Wordpress users can enjoy the new powerful stats system too simply by installing the new plugin.

Wordpress API

This new stats plugin is powered by the Wordpress API and needs no detailed installation or anything. It works just as the Akismet plugin which means that if you have Akismet running then getting Automattic Stats running is just a matter of seconds.

Installating The Plugin

Installing the plugin is just a simple process:

  1. Upload stats.php to your /wp-content/plugins/ directory.
  2. Activate the plugin through the ‘Plugins’ menu in WordPress.
  3. It will ask you to enter your WordPress.com API key, do so.

Download The Plugin

For me the stats are rolling in already. I suggest every wordpress user to give this stats plugin a try
