  • There are lot of bugs i see in the submission form. It accepts without captcha verification ot even if the fields are empty. I tried that 3 times.

    When you start a directory initially allow free submission to blogs. This will help you to be popular. Linkback should be avoided. Moreover I don't think there is any benefit in terms of seo. As both the sites point to each other all the time. A one way lnk is always benificial.

  • I think I don't have to add anything after Ashish`s words, anyway try NOT to point to any site more than (let`s say) 2 time...I think otherwise google will consider it as spamming ;)

  • Ashish I have not got any spam submissions with me its going totally fine as with me in the admin panel. It rejects submissions with wrong captcha verification :mrgreen:

    You are right about the one way link Ashish and thats the main reason Sizlopedia Directory is a free directory and allows non-reciprocal link backs

    one-way free links from other sites isn't really going to help me. but if there was a php link directory-like script for wordpress, that would let me encourage visitors to buy one way links to my site, then it's win win.
  • Cojito There is a no built-in functionality in the plugin that allows you to sell links however I have contacted eBrank Marketingwho are the creator of this plugin and I have requested to add a link selling feature in the future versions of this plugin

    I do agree that one-way links from other sites do not help you with anything but I take it as a future investment. On next Pagerank update when my directory gets some good pagerank and some good amounts of links in it maybe then I can make the 'Reciprocal Link' function mandatory and can also start selling links as 'Featured Links'

    Download, copy to plugin directory, Activate.

    When editing you can choose Leave, 301, 302, 404 ( and url for 301, 302 )

    Licence , "can be stolen" ;) and we still dont care of man who still want to give a licence for "nothing" like this !

    I have tried to install it on my website but it gives some error of file not found i tried to work on code but it was not useful.

    I get an error message.

    I know it is very small problem but i am not able to fix it. Please help me in this issue.

    I have already sent message to developer of this plugin but he has not have time for respond i think hence I am asking for help here.

  • Samir It looks like you did not upload the directory plugin files in the right place because its giving a "No such file or directory" error

    Make sure the files are present where they are request. Read the Wordpress Link Directory manual carefully and set it up accordingly.

    Plugin : /public_html/wp-content/plugins/linkexchange

    Directory path : /directory

    and Site is in : /public_html



    I have followed the instructions but got this error.Looking for response :)!!

  • Chetan Unfortunately I removed the directory and plugin due to some search engine optimization reasons.
  • Has anyone got this directory script to work with WP 2.3.2? I have been trying for a couple of hours with out any luck. I got it to work on an older WP a while back during development, but it doesn't seem to work with the latest 2.3.X versions. Any ideas.

    No, I tried with WP 2.3.2 and it doesn't work. Problem is, WP 2.2 and up had some serious database changes (odd for a non primary version), so that could be the problem.

    I got three warnings when I tried to activate the plugin. ( Warning: Unknown: open_basedir restriction in effect. etc. )

    I run the latest wordpress version, according to the latest comments that might be causing this. If so, any chance for an update of this plugin? I'd love to see it work!

    I might have been a bit too fast there. After chmodding the directory/temp folder to 777 it seems to run fine. (Now checking.)
  • The plugin is obsolete and does not work correctly with the new Wordpress version.

    I have removed the link directory my own blog too therefore I am afraid I won't be able to answer your queries.

  • I am not sure! the plugin is no longer supported and is not compatible with the latest Wordpress 2.5 so its hard to say anything regarding the plugin and its usability.

    Yes, I have tried this one on 2.5 and 2.5.1 but to no avail...seems not compatible and the plugin has a very poor support.

    I have this plugin working using Wordpress 2.6 (with a bit of test data that seems to be OK), but instead of the link directory appearing in a subdirectory, I'd like it to show on my home page (or one section of it).     I tried downloading the plug in as quoted in "Download the Wordpress Link Directory Plugin", but the link appears to be broken as it gave me a 404 error page. You should fix this so people that are visiting your site can benefit from it. Feel free to let me know when you have fixed it :).
