Recently Google announced that Gmail will now be able to open Powerpoint Presentatons but the question about Google's own Presentation app is still a mystery. In April, Google announced that it has plans for a Google Presentation app which will be a part of the Google Docs and Spreadsheets family and which will aim to bring users an enriched presentation creation and editing environment free of cost.
Google Presentation Application May Soon Be Reality
PCWorld reports that Google will probably introduce a Presentation app to the Google Apps family by the end of this year along with some other applications. These include video, note-taking, blogging and group-discussion applications. Google also is aiming to establish parity between the offline and online capabilities of its productivity suite. Till now Microsoft Powerpoint remains as the most used Presentation software all around the world.
Google Apps with Enhanced Productivity
Last week Google introduced Google Gears that will let Web-based applications work in disconnected mode. This way Google has given new dimensions to the Google Apps and enhanced their productivity. This signifies that Google applications will be available for offline use in near future. Google Reader is the best example of an online application that can be used offline using Google Gears. Moreover it is said that Google Presentations may not come mainly as a separate Google app rather as a feature of Google Docs.
