Do you use Microsoft Office 2007 e.g. Word, Excel, and PowerPoint? If yes then I would not be surprised if you say that the new Microsoft Office extensions are creating problems for you. Microsoft introduced the "x" factor in the file extensions of various Microsoft Office 2007 Products but this is more like creating a problem for the users than benefiting them.

The new Microsoft Office 2007 saves files with extensions such as (.docx) or (.pptx) for Word and Powerpoint respectively which are not readable by the old versions of various Microsoft Office Products. Keeping in mind that Microsoft Office 97-2003 Products are still in use by majority of the people Microsoft has released a Microsoft Office Compatibility Pack which will help older version of Microsoft Office recognize the new file formats and read them.
How To Save Files in Microsoft Office 97-2003 Format
Most of you have noticed that when using Microsoft Office 2007 we often save the file in the new "x" format and when we take it to a PC that has older Microsoft Office version Products the file becomes useless as the older versions do not recognize it. It has happened to me a lot in my Computer Science lab. One easy way to get rid of this problem is to always remember to use the "Save as" feature which will let you save your file in Microsoft Office 97-2003 compatible version.
Download The Microsoft Office Compatibility Pack
Download the Microsoft Office Compatibility Pack to make your new Microsoft Office 2007 files work with older Microsoft Office versions. The file is nearly as big as 28 megabytes.
