There may be many ways to check the popularity and average traffic of a site or blog but till now I have found Alexa to be the most accurate and easy to access. Alexa stats not only tell you about the average traffic of a site but also tell you if its listed in DMOZ (the biggest human-edited web directory) or not. Moreover it also gives you information about your site traffic geographically.
Get Alexa Stats Right in Your Firefox Browser
Alexa makes a site's stats graph using the information it gathers through the Alexa browser toolbar. Until now the toolbar was only available for Internet Explorer but thanks to Sparky now you can have an Alexa toolbar for firefox too. I have been using SearchStatus till now to check on-the-fly Alexa stats for different blogs and sites but now with an official Alexa toolbar for firefox on the loose I guess its time to say bye bye to SearchStatus.
Sparky (Alexa Toolbar For Firefox) Features
- Related Links help you find sites similar to the one you are currently visiting
- Traffic Trend shows you a traffic stats graph for the current site
- Reach Meter is a little meter which shows the site's reach
- Traffic Rank tells you the current rank of the site
Download and Install Sparky
I recommend bloggers and web developers to download and install this firefox extension. It can come of great help to them.
