Windows Live Folders or Windows Sky Drive was one of the most awaited online Microsoft services. The service was launched by Microsoft in late June to a group of selected beta testers along with the release of Windows Live Gallery but the good news is that this great service is no longer in closed Beta phase.
Try Out Windows Live Folders
This does not mean that the service is out of its Beta phase rather I should say that the Closed Beta Phase has just been expanded i.e. the service is now open to even those Live ID users who were not members of the Closed Beta Group for Windows Live Folders. To get started just rush on to Windows Live Folders and click the "Get Started" button to start your experience.
Windows Live Folders Features

As discussed previously, Windows Live Folders has got very clear and simple to use interface. You get a space of 500 MB to store files. The folders have been divided into three well-explanatory categories i.e.
- Personal Folders
- Shared Folders
- Public Folders
You can further categorize the files inside your Personal Folders to differentiate between Documents, Music and Pictures. You can even create new folders inside the pre-existing folders. The files can uploaded using a simple upload form.

If you want to keep your files dead-private just upload them to your Private Folders. Shared Folders are good when you want to share files with your family or friends and Public Folders make your files globally accessible to anyone on the Internet. You should definitely try out this service as the biggest benefit you get is that your files are associated with your Live ID account and can be accessed anywhere in the world.
