Easily Sync Files across Multiple Computers

Are you constantly burning files to a CD/DVD or using a flash drive to transport your files from work to home or vice versa? If you do then FolderShare is exactly the best solution for you.

FolderShare allows you to sync files across multiple computers, and share those files between coworkers and friends. One of the major problems I find transporting files via e-mail is the limitation there is on the size of the file you can send, most e-mail providers set this limitation at 10 MB, FolderShare puts a solution to that, you only need to invite a friend or colleague you want to share files with, and specify a folder you want them to access set permissions and they should be able to view or download your files.

How Foldershare actually works?

How does FolderShare works? Here is a good illustration how this program works

How do you access your files from any computer connected to the Internet?

I tested FolderShare from my work computer and my laptop at home and the speed is quite good, I guess the speed must be related to the type of Internet connection you have in both locations, I have cable at home and we have a T1 at work. I find this tool better than VPN or Terminal Server to work from home or sharing files. Another nifty thing I noticed with FolderShare was that I was able to access my mapped drives from my work computer where I store my work related stuff, so I can access files from the network as long as they are mapped to my computer.

Is FolderShare Safe and Secure?

Is FolderShare secure? This is what they say about security; FolderShare is a secure peer-to-peer system. Only you and your invited members can view or access files in your FolderShare library. FolderShare encrypts all files and messages exchanged on our network to ensure user privacy. All P2P communication on FolderShare is authenticated via RSA and encrypted via AES over SSL.

I believe FolderShare is a pretty good deal with a price you can’t beat FREE! This is not normal from Microsoft to give out software like this for free but as Dj mentioned on one of his recent post “It looks like Microsoft is now trying to expand itself in the Internet market”.

FYI, I was going to do a story on this too, but when I was clicking through some of the settings I got my first “Blue Screen of Death” since at least last year. Definitely uninstalled it. Plus it was kind of ugly.

Looks like a great tool. I’m going to check it out. Great guest post.

Seems very nice to me too, I’m gonna test it on my Mac.

I am going to try out as well .

Adam, probably the screen of death was a phenomenon waiting to happen and it was pure chance that it happened when you were playing with FolderShare, Blue screens of death are tightly connected with faulty memory and OS issues, lucky us, we got to do the story without any problem!! thanks everyone for reading my Guest post and special thanks to DJ for letting it happen.

Nelson that was one brilliant post there that you shared with me and my readers.

You are always welcome to share more of your knowledge with my audience because I respectable valuable authors like you.
