MegaVideo has really impressed me since the day of its release. The challenge to "beat YouTube" still looks far from reality but making it to the top #200 Alexa sites in just a matter of 2 months is definitely one big achievement for MegaVideo. I like MegaVideo in some aspects that it has a good collection of videos and the quality is also nice.

Lately in August I told you How To Download MegaVideo Videos which was a big search engine hit and got me a lot of traffic but the method was quite not-so reliable and was based on luck.

Today I present to you ClipNabber which is a service that helps you download videos from YouTube, DailyMotion etc but the coolest feature of ClipNabber is that it will also let you download videos from MegaVideo directly. Just put in the URL of the video you want to download and Nab it. 5 seconds of processing and you are good to go!

MegaVideo is even one of my favorites now I like the video quality and fast service and the good thing is that now we can even download the videos to our PC.

Been trying to use clipnabber to download video from megavideo to my desktop for later viewing. After I copy the URL and paste in on clipnabber and click Nab, nothing happens. Whta’s the next step?? please help, anyone?

After copying the URL, go back to the video and near the top of the page, right click and choose, View Source. In the window, there will be what looks like computer code. Press Ctrl+A, and then Ctrl+C to copy all of the info. Go back to clipnabber. Press Ctrl+V to paste everything into the white box underneath where you pasted the URL. Press Nab Video again, and the download link will appear. Right click the link and choose, Save Target As… Choose a location for the file and save it with an extension of .flv. Ex. MyVideo.flv and then click Save. You’ll be done there. You will need an FLV Player to view or you can convert to fit your iPod using Videora. Wait a few seconds for the website to process the URL, then a Download Link will appear. Right click it and save it to the desktop. This will download the file. Then add “.flv” to the end of the file name and play it using a player that is compatible with the flv format (like VLC Player for example)

I just have a question…do you need any special program to use for the file that was being downloaded form ClipNabber to play? I save the file that I downloaded and use a media player like ZoomPlayer…but why is it that is still not playing? Please help…thanks!

I want to turn the videos that I capture into AMVs, which basically means that I want to get them onto Windows Movie Maker. Is there any way that I can do this?

If you mean AMVs as in Anime Music Videos, then you should be able to so it with AVI files. You just have to make sure you click “Import Videos” because it won't work any other way.

I am liking ClipNabber but this video I want to download is on another web page though still hosted as MegaVideo, Please help by either showing a way to find my video on the main site or downloading it from the other site. By the way I tried searching for the title but it didn’t work.

Click on the video that is embedded on some other web page and it will lead to the video’s original MegaVideo page. Copy the link of that page to ClipNabber and download the video directly.

Clipnapper!! hmmm, concepts is simply gr8…but i want faster download speed…if i have to wait as much as watching the whole movie,..i will simply let the film run in megavideo and copy from temp folder.

Oh God, download speed dropped to 20kb/s..my normal download speed is 250+kb/s

Another site that is good for this is the one I just made

I faced the same pronlem as you did before , i tried a lot of other remote upload site to remote upload videos from megavideo but non of them works ,Recently i found this site
drive.123-reg.co.uk and its working great to remote upload from megavideo , the remote upload transfer speed usually started from 100kb/s++ and will drop to 75kb/s++ ,at least the speed is better than my download speed , only around 10kb/s++

MegaVideo will not surpass YouTube in the MegaVideo is heading…But it’s a nice try although tougher.

YES-and NO. There have been Code packs for the FLV files so that it can be played on other players.

Acutely it’s pretty easy to find some FLV->AVI(And about 8 other formats at the average, found only one converter that could use only AVI FLV format) converter.
But the reliable once are needed to be bought (For legal use anyway…like someone cares about it this days, eh?)

clipnabber seems to be unable to communcate with megavideo as of this moment. i cant seem to download anything from megavideo with it.

Yea, I’ve noticed that Vid23 isn’t working anymore…when you must enter the “code” to “check if you are human”, the image that is supposed to show you the text is a broken link.

Hey , I too have had trouble recently with vid23 , I have been trying everyting at my end to fix problem . Clearing cache,cookies , temp files.
Ran out of new email address’s . lol

boston and thortor , thanks for posting . Now I can stop trying to fix . sent vid23 email about problem . was returned undeliverable .

Hi guys

Im having a bit of a problem. I know how to use clip nabber and I have a FLV player but everytime I try to play a video on it it just keeps saying paused. I will press the play button, it will start to load and then it will just stop and say paused.

if you’re using my site, please don’t ever change your IP address.. the premium link generated is only valid for your current IP address… you can pause and resume the download as long as your IP address doesn’t change

The survey is messing up the site for me. It says there are no surveys available for my country (the Netherlands) but there's no way for me to close the message. No matter what i do i just seem to unable to download any movie FULL

i tried clipnab megavideodownloader GET++

But it only downloads half or 2/3 of the vuideo and says that the download is finished.

2 times i got it to work to download a FULL movie, but i think it was just random luck.

PLEASE HELP ME i want to download my favourite movies from MEgavideo!
