There are so many new websites entering the WWW, and the older websites keep racking up more PR, that eventually, Google has to recalibrate its toolbar rankings to make it more meaningful. My site, TFTS, experienced the -1 PR drop affecting many sites which is another issue not related to paid links )TFTS does not have paid links in any form).
