Orkut has a feature called Scraps (Probably everyone knows about it already) which makes social networking more fun and interactive. This feature is no different to FaceBook’s Wall-to-Wall feature but what makes Scraps unique is that Orkut provides you a very personalized Scrapbook page where you can track all your scraps and can respond to them instantly.

Previously until now, Scrapbook needed to be refresh every minute or so to check the recent scraps. This was a real pain and fatigue for heavy scrappers. Plus users needed to keep the Scrapbook page open in order to get them and reply to them fast.

However with the new Orkut Scrap Alerts feature everything is going to be more dynamic and easy for users.

Orkut Scrap Alerts will alert you whenever you receive a new scrap no matter what page you are visiting and will also provide you a link to your Scrapbook page so you can instantly reply to your friends’ scraps.

For those who think that popups are annoying, they can even disable this new feature from Settings.
