Windows 7 Screenshots. Fake or Real?

Ads

windows-vienna-7-logo.png We know that after Windows Vista, now Microsoft has its major focus on the next upcoming version of Windows family of OS i.e. Windows 7 which is known by the name of Windows Vienna. Windows Vienna is already in the works (we come to know this through the fact that the development of Vista and Vienna was started together initially) but we don't know what it will look like and when it is going to come to the surface.

TechToday recently posted a series of screenshots which it claims to be that of Windows 7 or Windows Vienna. Some of the screenshots have surfaced on a site called Osbeta.org while others have been collected through a random search over the Internet.

Here take a look:

I won't make a hard statement saying that these are not the screenshots of Windows Vienna but as far as I know Microsoft, I doubt they are going to leak the Alpha version screenshots of Windows Vienna already. That would be like giving a second big competition to Windows Vista (first one is Windows XP already)

However these screenshots do give us a hope that Windows Vienna will be something new and awesome.

I agree. I have a feeling the next version will be a huge jump like Win XP was from Win 98.

I think we can prove that they are not screenshots of Vienne by the number build. Logicaly this number is based on NT version so the numbers should start at least higher than the one of vista ( in 6xxx ). The number one is the most original because nothing from MS have this look ( but I can’t imagine myself to successfully working with ). The second look like Windows Xp with the Zune theme. The third have the same colors as one of the futurist video from Microsoft. The last still look like Windows Vista, but the longhorn builds looked like Xp so i can’t say anything against the theme but i doubt that Microsoft would have written “Microsoft Vienna Center”, Microsoft always write the term “Codename or Code name” with it.

Why Windows 7? When Vista still has bugs. Those monkeys addicted to money.

I think they are “in a way” addicted to money. But if I were them, I would just completely dump, and trash Windows Vista and get something new (i.e Windows 7). Windows Vista was not all that bad, but it had a terrible reputation probably a worse repulation than the actual software. The reason for me doing this is because, Windows Vista has way to bad of a rep. for anyone to buy it, they will just pass it buy and get a Mac or whatever. They need a new OS, at this point Vista will never catch on.

The screenshots are fake. They are just skins that i have on Windows XP.

  • Bla

Nope. This is Zune theme and Yahoo! Widgets Photoshop etc.

Windows sucks anyway. Try Puppy Linux.

Windows does not really suck. It does have a lot of bugs and other issues but it is way more user friendly and task efficient than Linux.

The pictures look different each time, so none are probably real. Best to wait till it comes out.

I have used Vista a lot and I am not satisfied with Microsoft…I am waiting for Vienna…I will purchase the OD from Microsoft…and I will be glad if some one can just mail me a document on latest updates of Vienna.

The first screenshot looks cool…but not highly useful for power-users. As somebody supporting a substantial user-base of data-entry staff, having a limited Mac-style menu would have advantages in terms of usability in the workplace. Obviously the option of then switching back to a “classic” interface for our power-users would also be a plus. So maybe there’s a happy medium?

I think , these pics are real.

After using Vista I don’t think Microsoft would create even ‘good OS’. So I decided to use openSUSE 10.3 linux – better, faster and much more useful than MS’ products. And it’s free ;)

  • Mpumi

Yah man this is real whoever thinks windows Vienna is fake get over it and wait for theresults..I’m sure you were saying the same b 4 vista..

  • Hated Windows

Thinking about Windows is just a crap. They are trying to copy the same features of mac OS. Providing screen shots isnt going to make any impact regardless to vista, it was the same when it came to the market. Still the research team is finding a solution for all the bugs.
Bugs in windows OS is an ocean. It would not end untill MS admit their product isnt the best.

ALL FAKES ( BAD ONES AT THAT!)

    Look at the Build Numbers…

Windows Seven will be based of NT 7 so the build should look something like

    Windows Seven
    Build 7xxx.xx

Or if based off of NT 6 like vista

    Windows Seven
    Build 6xxx.xx

The build number will never be before 6xxx.xx for sure unless Microsoft abandons NT Technology for the next windows release (WHICH IS UNLIKELY)

All Fakes It Looks Just Like Vista If You Dont Belive Me Type windows 7 in to wikipedia search Box!! :@

  • avdesh

I think there is a need to improve Vista rather than going for a new OS.
