1_sizloxy.gif Most of you would have noticed that I have not updated the blog from past 3 days. That is because I was busy working on a new open source project which was not that hard to setup but actually it was the initial investment money that really gave me the worries.

Internet censorship has gone way beyond limits now in countries like China, UAE and Saudi Arabia etc and this is certainly keeping humanity from getting to know everything that is going on over the Internet so I decided to make something that can help those people out there bypass Internet firewalls and access blocked websites.

I bought a dedicated linux server worth $350/month from the best company in the world (SoftLayer Technologies) with a unmetered bandwidth and with over 4 GM Ram based on an Intel Xeon 2.4 GHz Quad Core just to start this web proxy site which will not only help people bypass Internet filters but will also give them free access to the Internet world.

Sizloxy is a free anonymous web proxy that can handle surfing better than any other web proxy on the internet. It is based on an open source web script (PHP Proxy) with slight modifications to it. It is absolutely free to use and even handle secure connections e.g. Orkut, Gmail etc.

    The timing could not have been better. I am from India, but came to UAE for 10 days. Here, I cannot access sites like Flickr.

    To my horrors, I realized I couldn’t even open Skype download page! I had to go to filehippo for the download. Apparently, Skype contains material deemed bad for UAE residents. What material? Must be chatting.

    Any way, thanks for the proxy. Though, I don’t know how long it will be before they add your domain to blacklist. You got any safeguard against that?

    Last time I tried to acess orkut through it, I was not redirected, this time I got quick access.

    Hey cool, but alas its another proxy which refuse to enter Orkut. If someone you are able to enter using saved cookie of other account, it wont allow you to post scrap. Hey DJ be careful, UAE ISP Etisalat is blocking website which link to proxy and moreover the proxy itself. I hope it doesn’t happen to you and hey I am getting script error for your site in IE. Nirmal posted about it long back.

    This proxy doesn’t work against the infamous iPrism Firewall. I think the schools are going out of their way just to make kids miserable…but thats just me…anyways I would appreciate it if you could help me bypass this monster.

    Kanak I hope it really does not happen to me and as far as the script error is concerned, I am very much aware of it and I know that it only happens in Internet Explorer.

    Though after so much attempts I am still unable to figure out the root cause of this problem.

    use google website translator to get into blocked sites.
