Most of you would already know about the event that has left the heart of all Pakistanis filled with sadness and sorrow. It was the assassination of one of my country’s most powerful and talented woman Benazir Bhutto.
Though I hardly go off topic but being a representative of my country in the blogosphere and on the Internet world I must express the great sorrow that has overpowered my heart after the assasination of Benazir Bhutto.
She was a former prime-minister of Pakistan and had firm grounds of becoming the prime minister once again in 2008. They say that she wanted democracy but I say Benazir Bhutto is Democracy.
Here is the official assassination video of Benazir Bhutto as released by the Government of Pakistan. Though you will see gun shots being fired and a bomb blast but her actual death was caused due to a head injury and not because of any of the former.
I pray for her soul to rest in peace and may she get a place in heaven for serving her nation. Long live Benazir Bhutto!

Man that was not good. Everything is closed from the last 2 days
I know man. Riots are going on in different parts of the country so its not safe for schools and offices to operate.
That was just sad and very cowardly. RIP Bhutto.
That is very sad for us. I am from India and everybody here feel the same. I am sure her sacrifice will not go waste and democracy will find its way in Pakistan. May her soul rest in peace.
Let’s just see it this way: Democracy is not possible without bloodshed. And Benazir’s death might just prove to be the catalyst in speeding up the re installation of democracy in Pakistan.
Good Luck
I am very sad for that the world has lost again one of the good and brave persons that we need at this bad times. I think all Egyptians feel like me.
Man, ain’t nothing gonna change. are you kidding me? it will never stop. you’re fooling yourself if you think something good will come out of it.
I’m American and I know my history. People over there have been fighting and killing each other since the beginning of time! Democracy will never be attained in the middle east! Never Ever! The people won’t allow it.
Its not good. I agree with Anand. Lets see now how her son will manage the command.
Good Luck to all Pakistani brothers from an Indian…Keep on going and fight against terrorism.
Morris., Your History is fine, but Geography is not. Pakistan is not in the Middle East
These people do not respect women or any view except their own. The only way to help that part of the world is to kill every single one of them and their children. They are animals and should be treated as such. No mercy,no talk, do what is needed.
D morris, no offense mate, but you are a fool. We could have picked you were an American by your ignorance and lack of knowledge behind your statements. You didn’t even need to tell us. Americans are hands down the most ignorant people in the world. Don’t even know where most countries are.
And democracy will be achieved in Pakistan, it is just a question of how long it will take. Democracy is a movement that will not be shaken by this. Bhutto’s death will serve as a catalyst to speed up the process and her assassination has pretty much guaranteed democracy to the people of Pakistan.
There is no rule in Pakistan,Everybody who is a sincere Pakistani should process against Pervaiz Musharaf because he is the one who is responsible the assassination of her…He should resign from the presidency of Pakistan because he would not able 2 control Pakistan.
Guess what.
Its been over 200-300 Years since America (USA, 1776 to be exact, came to be).
Its only been over 60 years to Pakistan.
Give it a bit of time.
We will have Democracy in Pakistan.
As an American, I personally want to apologize for the extreme ignorance of d. morris. I would like to be able to say that he is in the minority around here as far as ignorance is concerned but I wouldn’t be able to rightfully do so. But believe it or not there is a large group of knowledgeable and tactful Americans that wish the country of Pakistan a safe recovery and hope that Benazir Bhutto may RIP.
Not all Americans are ignorant. It is a shame idiots like Bush & Cheney make us all look bad, when most Americans can’t wait for them to get out of office. The majority of Americans are against them and this war. Whoever wrote that killing people is the solution is an idiot too. You should be ashamed of yourself for writing to kill children. Children are innocent. It is when they are taught to hate that is the problem. No good comes from violence. Violence is what’s wrecking the world. My heart goes out to the people suffering. It also goes out to Bhutto’s family and people. She was their ray of hope for change. The only way this world will change is for people to treat each other as people and stop using violence as a means of resultion.
D. Morris is truly an idiot, and fits the stereotypical view the rest of the world has of us Americans right now thanks to the brain dead moron leading our country. The stereotype is correct in some ways, but during the last 7 years the intelligent Americans have shut up and hidden, waiting for the end of the Bush era to bring democracy back to OUR country. All the rest of the world hears are the loudmouthed fools who like to jump up and down and scream and yell. The majority are very different. I digress. She was a hugely respected and admired figure in America, and will be missed. From those of us Americans who want to rejoin the rest of the world, condolences.
Hey Jay Joseph. Your understanding of the world is about as intelligent as your comment. I know some Americans can be obnoxious but the world has benefited greatly from the sacrifices made by the American people. I love and respect people from all over the world and have many friends in countries everywhere. I probably have friends in your country too. Based on the your mastery of the English language I’d bet I fought along side some of your countrymen for the same cause.
As far as Pakistan is concerned we in America mourn her loss along with the rest of the free world. We thought she was the answer to Pakistan’s future and hope and pray that her son can take her dream and lead the way to a free and greater Pakistan.
As far as you are concerned Mr. Joseph, the next time your area gets hit by a title wave, a flood, an earthquake, a famine, a wild fire, a drought, an epidemic or you get overrun by a brutal dictator, I hope we will be busy being ignorant that day and you can bail your own butt out.
As for the rest of the world, if you have a problem, give us a call and we’ll be right there.
If any one has downloading link of Benazir Bhutto assassination videos then mail me at trueinam@hotmail.com
I join the world in extending my condolences to the people of Pakistan. Living under the dictatorship of Musharraf is not democracy, and I know that Bhutto was giving hope that democracy would come sooner than later.
Please forgive me this question. I do know that Bhutto gave hope to many that times were going to change, but it is my understanding that she was ousted because of serious corruption. I hope this question does not sound rude in this time of mourning, but would a Pakistani please take a moment to explain to the world, why she seemed to be so popular after what appears to be a corrupt tenure in office? I was always surprised that she was so popular. Now, I have not independently studied this. Perhaps anything is better than Musharraf, or perhaps the rumors of her corruption were exaggerated for the coup, or perhaps she expressed her regret? I don’t know.
Again, I’m sorry for the loss. This is never an acceptable method of civilized society.
USA Jack, let me tell you something. Don’t think that the rest of the world is hopeless in times of peril. I’m an Australian and we are perfectly capable of looking after ourselves. We are a far more diplomatic, peaceful and accepting society than is the USA.
Don’t get me wrong by assuming i hate America. I don’t. Australians and Americans are fighting on the same team, and I’m thankful that the USA is the world’s superpower, but i HATE it when people like D Morris say things like ‘I’m and American and i know my history.’ Just because you’re American, does not make you better or more knowledgable than anyone else.
And also, NEVER assume that just because we’re not American, we can’t get ourselves out of trouble. We Australians have the greatest fighting spirit in the world and we don’t need America’s or anyone else’s help in anything. Ie.Look at our booming economy and compare it to your near recessionary circumstances.
@Jay Joeseph,
Why does this have to be about you and Australia? It is about a person who stood for what she believed was the best for her country and it’s people. Every country has a leader that are beloved by some of their countrymen and women.
The USA loves the rest of the world. We are from the rest of the world. We are the biggest melting pot/representation of the world. That’s why when someone who cared and knew she was putting her life on the line for her belief in her country and people is assassinated, Americans want to help. We don’t have to or need to. We know our country was founded on great people like Bhutto. Instead of worrying how tough Australia is, realize the toughness and resolve Bhutto exemplified and passed on to her people.
Let us all unite against terrorism. Agony of mother or son is same whether Benazir or a common man. Killing innocent is not told in any religion, let us all fear God. These act have no justification. May God almighty give peace to the soul and give strength to people of Pakistan to overcome the crisis with in.
Hi…its especially for Mr Adil!
Dear sir its my humble advice that you need to be very responsible while writing anything about your country…don’t just throw anything that comes to your mind because it spoils the true image of Pakistan…please if you think negatively do not spread your immature negative views to people abroad…how do you say there is no rule in Pakistan? are you living in a jungle? and don’t just blame anyone you don’t like for this…because the assassin of Benazir would also have “Extremist Views” like you…First look into circumstances, the facts and then say something…Musharraf is the last person to be benefited from all this…this has multiplied all his efforts to zero point…the return of both majority party leaders, stepping down from COAS designation, announcement of election schedules etc was all going fine…why then should he derail all this and destroy with his own hands that he was very proud of construction for Pakistan.
Hope you follow the brotherly advice Mr. Adil. We all pray that our great country recovers from this great loss and we can continue with the development and progress in it…Thanks
Benazir Bhutto cost a lot to Pakistan both in her life and after her death. In her life she had corruption cases of nearly Rs 90 billion pending against her. These cases were never resolved. Even with her death a loss of Rs 1100 billion in the subsequent events made many people go hand to mouth. Hopefully her death will reduce the number of corrupt people in this world.
There is not only one Musharraf, there is not only one bureaucrat or Politician who do for himself or who is enemy of Pakistan, there are thousands of like them who are truly enemies of Pakistan and the enemies of Pakistan’s Future.
Every sincere Pakistani should be Zulfiqar Bhutto and Benazir Bhutto then it is possible to save Pakistan. If you try to make the list of enemies of Pakistan who are called Pakistanis and are in Government or we can say that are in powerful form, then in this type of list 40% to 45% of Pakistanis will be listed, now we cant kill or jail so large number of corrupt peoples. Now we have to change their minds to bound them in such a system which never allows them to act in the against of Pakistan. The system or we can say the plan or documentation of such system which we needed, is available. Where? That is constitution 1973, this is planed or build with the help of democracy, it can be implemented with the help of democracy. If this constitution will be implemented then this will create such a system which will bound all corrupt peoples.
I my comments are wrong or negative then please suggest me and indicate me with an email.
Stop thinking about yourselves and your countries. Just let her rest in peace. May the whole world live in peace and harmony.
I would just like to say that whatever happened, it had to happen because of Allah’s will. It is useless arguing with each other rather all we can all pray for Benazir to rest peacefully in heaven.
I agree with D. Morris, it is nearly impossible to have democracy in Pakistan and the middle east, simply because People there don’t get the very idea of democracy. Take a close look, and you will rather find hypocrisy. There is just too much corruption in the system.
And No, not all Americans are ignorant. We lead by example because we got the idea of democracy some 200 years ago.
There is a reason why everyone looks up to us, and we bail them out, let it be France, Kuwait, etc.
That doesn’t make the Americans better than others. It only makes the American System better than the corrupt ones. We the Americans are regular people just like the Australians, the Pakistanis, the European, etc.
As a newly converted Muslim, this kind of news really saddens me. I am a British woman aged 21 and my best friend is also 21 and of Pakistani heritage. We both feel victimized in society. He says he’s too scared sometimes to go outside because of the color of his skin. He’s in Lahore right now and I’m scared as I haven’t heard from him since the bomb this morning. It’s people like that who are giving Islam a bad name. All of my other Muslim friends are wonderful and peaceful people.
Yes I agree with Janine…because Muslims are being each ohter enemies now…no one shoud get killed as Islam is another name for Peace! which is nowhere at the moment.
I am from Pakistan. I am also a Sindhi like Bhutto and I would like to point out that after this, the hope for every Sindhi living in Pakistan of getting job, respect or even some care or love has been cruised. I don’t think any leader from the Sindhi community would ever be born as her ever again…and yes this is not the way it should have been and there is no positive effect from this act but just her family is suffering from this assassination.
I am just happy that she got to be buried right by the side of his father whom she loved very much.
Yeh thats true Ahsan…it was a disaster for the family…there will be no one like Benazir but it is pointless talking about it now. Whatever happened had to happen and nobody could change it…she was very lucky that she got buried next to her father…everyone just needs to pray for her and may she rest in peace.
In retrospect, it all seems murder of people in the name of people. The fate of underdeveloped people who think of standing on their feet has never been different. They get a never ending chain of chaos. The moment there appears a hope, the guns seem ready to strike. This talk of corruption is a facade: what did the so called honest people in power do in the intervening period? I’m afraid they too will earn the same title. Sooner or later the gun holders will dub them inept, corrupt and fit to break into oblivion. Obituaries and well earned tributes will mushroom.
All perpetrators would start the same chorus of “What a loss!” It seems we have become used to these rhetorical devices. Where to point the accusing finger? To ourselves,I guess? People incapable of protecting their best assets do not deserve to keep one! Isn’t it the snub-nosed law of a gun? BB’s murder says that much. Her crime was the same: she knew the cruel reality of how dirty the mighty could be. She wanted to build the might of people to counter it. The perpetrators also knew of her mission. How could they let people get mightier and sign their own death warrant? I would be the last person to mourn because it would inevitably make me passive and back into the chaos so dear to the gun holder. I would continue with whatever little I can contribute to the dream of making people strong. My tribute to all martyrs is my little step forward.
Too gory a plan but there seems no other way but to erect the targets that out number the bullets!
every thing has becomes finished for pakistani poor peoples after her assasination. God bless her soul and onto poor pakistani peoples.
