ipod-converter.jpgRunning my new iPod Touch was a whole new experience for me as I am not familiar to any of the devices by Apple at all.

First of all it took me one whole hour to figure out how to put MP3 songs and MP4 videos on my iPod Touch using iTunes.

The second biggest challenge that I faced was to figure out how to convert videos to MP4 Format so they can run on my iPod.

Google gave me a list of good video converters for iPod but they were all paid so after much research I got hold of two Free iPod Video Converter softwares that can be used by you to Convert Videos to iPod Format.

Jodix Free iPod Video Converter

This is a Free iPod Video Converter that can convert all popular video formats to iPod video (such as DVD/VCD and AVI, MPEG, WMV, RM, RMVB, DivX, ASF, VOB). It is a very handy and easy to use utility that can convert videos for your any iPod device (iPod Classic, iPod nano or iPod Touch) and it even gives you the ability to convert videos files in a batch.

One drawback is that the software has not been updated since Feb 08, 2006 which makes it a lot outdated but it still works fine because I have tested it myself.

Videora iPod Converter

This is another free iPod video converter software which is relatively new and updated regularly to work with all iPod devices. It has got a lot of features. Most noticeably it will allow you to select video format, change conversion speed, quality and a lot more.

Moreover it will let you download and convert YouTube videos so that they work on your iPod like a charm and it also has VGA H.264 (640x480) video quality support which makes videos look amazing on iPod Touch and other new iPod Touch devices.

The other great feature of this tool is that it has separate versions for different iPod devices such as iPod Classic, iPod nano, iPod Touch etc and it even supports the iPhone. Respective versions for your device can be downloaded using the links given below:

If you own an iPod device and use some other method to convert videos easily, please share it in the comments.

I purchased Any DVD Converter to convert to my Ipod Touch 4g and have had nothing but trouble. It has converted using a foreign language even though I have told it english. And newer encoded dvd’s such as tv seasons…it won’t show you all of the episodes. And if you rip and convert anything longer than 20 minutes, the audio and video get out of sync making it very irritating. And 2 hours…forget it…the difference is a good 5 seconds. I’ll try the programs above…hopefully they work better.
