Windows Vista SP1 is Vulnerable to Hackers

Windows Vista Service pack 1 which was a major release from Microsoft is very much open to hackers and malware.

windowsvistasecurityissue.jpg

Why? because it actually blocks/prevents several famous Anti Virus programs which includes one Alarm Security Suite 7.1, Trend Micro Internet Security 2008, Jiangmin antivirus product and BitDefender 10.

The reason Microsoft came up with that these antivirus programs are not compatible with Windows Vista service pack 1.and for some reliability reasons, Microsoft blocks these programs from starting after you install Windows Vista SP1. Also, programs like Novell's ZCM Agent and The New York Times reader software are also blocked and can't be run on Microsoft Windows Vista Service Pack1.

It's not the first glitch for Windows Vista SP1. Microsoft earlier this week pulled from the Windows Update site a file that's a prerequisite to installing the service pack. The company said the file, known simply as KB937287, can cause host computers to enter an endless cycle of boots and reboots.

Now Microsoft already has delayed the distribution of Vista SP1 because they couldn't resolve compatibility issues with some software drivers that control PC peripherals such as mice, keyboards, and printers and it Microsoft Vista service pack won't be available as a manual download until mid-March on Windows Update.

Even then, installation will be rejected on PCs with the problem drivers. Affected users who want to access the software regardless will be able to download it directly from Microsoft.com. So whats the good news? In my opinion, nothing! those 300 bug fixes gifts that originally came with Microsoft XP a year back doesn't count.

I have updated to this current Pre-requisite of SP1 but fortunately I am not facing any issues…I use Avast Anti-Virus.

Good for you because as far as I know, Vista Service Pack 1 is not only making Windows Vista more vulnerable rather it is breaking a lot of applications and softwares too.

Hello! I am emailing you because I would like to download the Windows Vista Service Pack 1 but I need to know if it is compatible with my Norton Virus protection? I have Windows Vista Home Premium. Please tell me will it be safe from Hackers & such if I download this. Thank you, Gayle

Vista Service Pack 1 does suck. I’ll be opting for Avast now, thank you. SP1 totally screwed my AVG, Quickplay and whatnot. Why can’t Microsoft release anything without bugs. This is the last draw. Everytime I update my Windows, I end up reformatting it. I mean, I know it is pretty much a trial and error thing but my goodness! At least give us some really good reason not to think of switching to other OS.
