We have developed so many sites and now we are waiting for google page rank update. Hope we will get a good page ranks to all our websites.

Do you have any idea when google will update the page rank of sites ?

It is March 14th and I’m starting to see some different numbers on page rank checker at iweb. Is the update still happening? I’m not sure how long an update takes.

@DJ: I have heard Matt Cuts saying that Page rank is not that important for SERP. Probably thats the reason Even though I lost my Pagerank 5 I did not lost my traffic.

Tipping with adding rel=nofollow is pretty bad idea. If you would say reduce it I can agree in order to maintain more of internal juice than external. If you give vote to something good Google should be happy about it.

There is a saying in selling. Tell more to sell more. If you give more you will get it back. I guess thats one more reason Darren gets so many links and he never stops if he doesn’t get it also.

When you say, “Use very less outbound links on your posts/web pages”, do you mean all those archive and category links on the front page of most blogs are a bad thing? And how about filter blogs like Instapundit, Kottke, etc. that do mostly external linking?

1. Actually there is no way in which you can say with 100% confidence that Google uses Pagerank for SERPs or an algorithm that is similar to Pagerank.

As we are not aware of that “algorithm similar to Pagerank” so we say that its indeed the Pagerank thats affecting the SERPs

2. Well, I know if everyone starts linking sites with rel=”nofollow” tag that will make a no-backlinks situation on the Internet. But for the bloggers concerned about their blog SEO it is definitely a good tip.

Google does not use PR for its SERPs, but some algorithms similar to the ones used for PR is part of SERPs.

“Use the rel=”nofollow” tag with every outbound link”
Then others will do the same, and guess what happens? This goes wrong:
“Build a lot of backlinks”
