I made the mistake of buying the iPod Touch without fully checking it out (something I do normally do). If I had known that it was a closed device, that you can’t connect it to your PC via USB, that you can’t see it in Windows Explorer, that you can’t drag and drop files on it like a portable drive or USB key and (way more importantly) that it restricts 3rd party apps and Adobe Flash, I would not have spent the money on it.
Fingers crossed that ExoPC Slate is everything that they say it is, cause I’ll be getting one of them instead and dumping the iPod Touch as soon as I can.

Same here well errr iPod touch. I would love. The closet thing I have is imobile cinema(if u jailboke your phone it’s in cydia). Imobile cinema is great but it only works in 20% if things!!

Not having or allowing Adobe’s Flash come with Iphone/Ipod is like opening a drug store without pain killers. Duh. But I guess a lousy 400mhz CPU is too blame. Heck, 5 years ago I bought a Dell Axim pocket pc with a 633mhz CPU (just enought to decode a Divx on the fly).

So many developers use Flash, even I could offer many web apps for Iphone if Flash was useable.

I refuse to buy an Ipod or Iphone until full Flash is useable and the CPU is higher than a 400mhz (should be at least 633mhz to keep up with 5 year old Pocket PCs).

Flash is one of the top applications on the web today. It’s a great way to display a link (esp. for email contact) without subjecting it to spam harvesters. It beats the crap out of any other animation or vector graphics app anywhere. Most websites use flash liberally for a number of reasons (it’s all over mine). Why bother giving us a web browser without it?

I am glad they are trying to do something but they need to hurry up. And a lot of people would download it for there iTouch so I don’t see what the problem is.

I hope they get flash on touch. I could watch flash on new grounds then. A lot of people would like the flash application and would buy it for that reason.

Ok, if it does get Flash, that pretty much decides it for me between that and the Storm.

That being said, Steve Jobs continues to shoot himself in the foot with this unwillingness to work with other people. Does he recall the fact that it was this same desire to keep a tight grip on absolutely every aspect of his stuff that put Apple at such a low market share for what, 10 years? Great product, but that guy has got to get over himself.
