Gmail Custom Time

So here is an interesting new Gmail feature called Gmail Custom Time. You can now send mails by selecting “Set custom time” from the Compose view. Any email you send to the past appears in the proper chronological order in your recipient’s inbox. You can opt for it to show up read or unread by selecting the appropriate option.

So what does this mean and is it for real? well it means that your email can travel through time and yes its real for those people who don’t know the day today and are not much familiar with Google’s sense of humor.

Gmail, being a part of Google, invents really convincing and innovative April Fool jokes every year. Last year they came up with Gmail Paper — a service that allows you order printed copies of mails in your inbox along with attachments and this year they have again amused us with Gmail Custom Time.

Google April Fool jokes usually have a very usual pattern that helps one identify such pranks. The first pattern is the absurd theme and the second pattern is the long list of fake and funny testimonials.
