Create Shortcut on Desktop for Device Manager

Do you make changes to your hardware configuration regularly? or do you tweak your settings, install beta drivers that crash your machine. Then you are entitled to be a hardware geek. So, hardware geeks, here is a small tip from me for making your life a bit more simpler.

We know that for everything related to hardware, windows allows to manage and manipulate from device manager. If you want to launch device manager there are two options (that I know) One is by Right Clicking at My computer | Properties | Hardware | Device Manager

The other way is by using the RUN dialogue box; just enter devmgmt.msc and enter.

Today we will learn another way, by a shortcut from the desktop. It is really easy to do and can be done in very simple steps

  1. In your desktop, right click | New | Shortcut
  2. We will get Create Shortcut dialogue box enter devmgmt.msc in the box and click Next
  3. Enter a description and click Finish.
  4. That’s it

References and Notes

  1. Commands you can use at RUN dialogue box
  2. What is Device Manger
  3. Go Directly to Device Manager

You can substitute any run command in the position of devmgmt.msc in the second step to make it a launcher of that program.
