The countdown for Ubuntu 8.04 finally begins today as now there are only 9 days to go for the official launch of Ubuntu 8.04 Hardy Heron. 1. Boot change – In the early version of Ubuntu, in the boot menu screen we have only one option to chose if we want give it a try or install it. 1.   • nice job on the list. nice job op de lijst. Brasero is a good tool I got to try it a little bit on my last pc. Brasero is een goed hulpmiddel ik om te proberen het een beetje op mijn vorige pc. I hadn't seen anything written about memory protection. Ik had niets gezien geschreven over het geheugen bescherming. I'm guessing this is something outside the kernel. I'm guessing dit is iets wat buiten de kernel. We'll seehow. We seehow. heron turns out from what I hear theres a couple bigger bugs they're trying to get fixed beforerelease. reiger blijkt uit wat ik hoor theres een paar grote bugs ze proberen aan vaste beforerelease krijgen.

    What's that suppose to mean? Wat is dat veronderstel dat te betekenen? Why would anyone hate it? Waarom zou iemand een hekel aan?

    I tried out the beta and I thought it was just super. Ik probeerde de beta en ik dacht dat het was gewoon super. Of course I ran it from the Live Cd so I didn't get to really run it through the wringer, but I sure liked what i saw.     Two big hopes: Twee grote hoop:

    1) Suspend-to-disk works as well as it does in XP on my notebooks; 1)-Suspend-naar-schijf werkt ook, net als in XP op mijn notebooks;

    2) The ability to get wireless networking not to either a) reconnect to the last network it connected to, or b) allow blacklisting/greylisting named networks, to protect against WLANs that "just happen" to have similar names. 2) De mogelijkheid om draadloos netwerken krijgen geen van beide een) opnieuw met de laatste netwerk is aangesloten, of b) een zwarte lijst / greylisting genaamd netwerken mogelijk te maken, te beschermen tegen WLAN dat "toevallig" op vergelijkbare namen hebben.

    I cannot remember what the tool was called but when I was doing the beta testing there was an application like Google Desktop that allowed me to search my computer. Ik kan me niet herinneren wat de tool werd genoemd, maar toen ik aan het doen was de beta-testen was er een toepassing als Google Desktop, dat kon ik op mijn computer zoeken. I think that will be a cool tool. Ik denk dat dat een coole tool zijn.

    I don't really agree with including Firefox 3 Beta. Ik ben het niet echt eens met inbegrip van Firefox 3 Beta. Although I have used it and found it fairly stable, it doesn't seem like something that should be included in an official release. However, most linux users would be comfortable using beta software and hopefully know what to do if they encounter a bug.     First, using dpkg and apt-get are not "coding". In de eerste plaats met dpkg en apt-get zijn geen "codering".
    Second, there are multiple GUI tools and frontends to dpkg and apt-get, making using terminal commands unnecessary. Ten tweede zijn er meerdere GUI tools en frontends aan dpkg en apt-get, waardoor met behulp van Terminal commando's overbodig.

    The boot options thing is actually not really an advantage. De boot opties ding is eigenlijk niet echt een voordeel. when I installed yesterday it said to myself "wanna install, hit install". toen ik gisteren geïnstalleerd op zei tegen mezelf "wilt installeren, hit installeren". after giving the installation everything it needed it started, and I got bored to death in about 2 seconds, because there was no browser, no IM no nothing to fool around with. , na de installatie alles wat het nodig is het begonnen, en ik kreeg vervelen tot de dood in ongeveer 2 seconden, omdat er geen browser, IM geen niets te gek rond met. luckily I was able to start a second xserver with a gnome session, so I didn't have to die of boredom ;) Gelukkig kon ik een tweede xserver beginnen met een gnome sessie, zodat ik niet hoefde te sterven van verveling;)
    actually it saves you one click and a few seconds of booting time, I think the OEM install feature is a much greater effort! eigenlijk is het bespaart je een klik en een paar seconden van het opstarten van de tijd, denk ik dat de OEM installeren functie is een veel grotere inspanning!
