Finally the long-awaited Linux distribution has come to life which aims to make life easier for all of the Linux and non-Linux users out there. This time I am trying my best not to target Windows rather just review Ubuntu 8.04 in itself and give you 10 reasons that will make you download and try Ubuntu 8.04 LTS. I myself strongly believe that living in a world without Windows is just impossible but there is always room to try something new and better.     The most important reason I see that is not listed above is that Ubuntu has a short release cycle. A razão mais importante que eu vejo que não esteja listado acima, é que o Ubuntu tem um ciclo de lançamento do curta. With only 6 months between each new version of Ubuntu, Ubuntu can build and make available applications long before Windows or Mac. Com apenas 6 meses entre cada nova versão do Ubuntu, o Ubuntu pode construir e fazer aplicações disponíveis muito antes do Windows ou Mac.

    Yes my friend, you have damn right, they might release a new version every month too, but who's gonna by new hardware or laptops every 6 months, kernels's getting heavier and heavier all the time!     Every device works out of the box - big claim and not true. Cada dispositivo funciona fora da caixa - reivindicação grande e não é verdade. A lot of things will work ootb and nearly all with tweaking but not all. Um monte de coisas funcionarão ootB e quase todos com ajustes, mas não todos. I've certainly got a usb wireless adapter at home which doesn't. Eu certamente tenho um adaptador USB sem fios em casa que não.

  • This distro is getting better month after month. Esta distribuição está ficando melhor mês após mês. The LTS support will appeal most of the system admins to check out Ubuntu more. O apoio LTS vai apelar a maioria dos administradores de sistema para verificar o Ubuntu mais.

  • I installed Ubuntu 8.04 about 5 days ago and so far it has been great. Eu instalei o Ubuntu 8.04 cerca de 5 dias atrás e até agora tem sido grande. It runs better and faster than Windows and installing programs and applications is very simple.   • The Wubi installation doesnt seem to work for me. A instalação Wubi doesnt seem to work for me. After installation and restart when i try to start Ubuntu, it gives an error saying "Upper Memory" and my Bios settings are reset.
