Track or Recover a Stolen PC using LocatePC

PC theft is a very common activity all around the world. Laptop PCs are the biggest victims in this case as they are portable and do not stick to one place like Deskop PCs. Cybernet recently shared an application called LocatePC that will help users easily. track or recover a stolen PC.

LocatePC sends you a secret email message from your computer containing vital information that can help you and law enforcement track a stolen computer, and eventually return it to you.

LocatePC is very easy to download, install and use. All you need to have is an email account with POP access so LocatePC can automatically send secret emails to you telling you the ISP and IP of your PC once it has been stolen.

The application uses a very intelligent stealth mode that hides the application at all times and automatically runs it on startup. To access the application you then need to press the Alt-Shift-Home combination and enter a password.

LocatePC will run on any version of Windows including Windows Vista/XP/Me/98.

    Hmm i will be buying a brand new PC (perhaps Laptop) very soon! will use this.

    Currently the PC i have is very slow with active crashes that no one wants to steal :-(
  • I am using this on my laptop as there are more chances of it being stolen than my desktop PC.

    In my university each student gets a laptop (its in their policy) so the chance of my laptop getting stolen/lost is very high.

    But on the sad part, how can IP address help me recover my PC as long as I am in Pakistan lol.

  • May be they offer tracking via Mac ID , IP , ISP etc
