Get Free Orkut Themes

Orkut has released a set of 10 themes for Orkut users which they can apply on their profile to make it look more beautiful and pleasing. However the sad part is that Orkut themes are available for selected users only and the feature has not yet been rolled out to everyone.

Thats where OrkutPlus comes to the immediate rescue by introducing userscripts of each of the 10 Orkut themes. Userscripts are small bits of Javascript used to customize a webpage at the user end.

Userscripts can be applied using the famous Greasemonkey Firefox Extension and you need to have Firefox Web Browser to use these Userscript Orkut themes.

Orkut themes can be installed using the link provided at the end of each screenshot:

  • If you really look at it, Twitter is mostly used by the kind of crowd who are a bit “experienced” on the web scene. On the contrary, “chirkut” (orkut, of course) is almost a household term, these days. So, it does make sense for the Orkut team to come up with pre-designed theme. But, I guess, custom themes are also not far away.

    Why do I have a feeling that one day Orkut is going to go the Hi5 way? Hi5 used to be a lovely networking site a few years back. Then they started jam packing the site with custom themes and dynamic backgrounds and what not. Look at Hi5 and most of it’s user profiles now. I’m sure you won’t feel like giving it a second visit.

    Just uninstall the Greasemonkey Firefox Extension to get the default theme back.
