VLC Player i.e. the most popular multi-format media player has been successfully ported to iPhone and iPod Touch. This opens a door of endless possibility as users will now be able to play formats such as XviD, H264, MPEG4, 3GP, MP3, MPEG2, AVI etc.

The app is known as VLC4iPhone and was created by the folks at Zodttd.

Currently VLC4iphone is only available to ZodTTD.com Beta Testers but as soon as more decoders get implemented, a public release will be made.

This means that soon iPhone and iPod Touch will be able to play movies and videos from any media format.
