Apple WWDC 2008 started almost 2 hours ago with an opening keynote by Steve and until now we have seen quite a lot of news and photo updates related to iPhone Firmware 2.0 apps, features and the new iTunes App Store.

As for the interesting news, Steve has announced that iPhone Firmware 2.0 will be available for download in early July, free for iPhone users , $9.99 for iPod Touch owners.
Following are the new unique features of iPhone 2.0.

- Fantastic Asian Language Support
- Contact search with Live searching
- iWord document support
- Support for Office documents (Word, Excel, and now PowerPoint)
- Bulk delete and move messages
- Ability to save images from email or Safari
- Calculator with scientific mode in Landscape orientation
- Parental Controls
Some of the new paid and free apps that were showcased during the keynote are:
iPhone 2.0 Apps
- Super Monkey Ball Game by Sega.
- eBay for iPhone.
- Loopt, a location-aware social network.
- TypePad, to blog or send in photos.
- Mobile News Network, gathers news content from nearby sources.
- Enigmo, a physics-based game.
- Cro-Mag Rally, a 3D racing game.
- Band, virtual piano, drums and guitar app for iPhone.
- 2 Medical-based apps.
- Digital Legends, an amazing looking 3D fantasy adventure game.
And of course more apps will be coming soon in the iTunes App Store in Firmware 2.0. Stay tuned for more!
