Google introduces Traffic Trends for Websites

For long, Alexa has remained the best website traffic comparison service on the web. However recently, users have flagged Alexa statistics as inaccurate following the change in its algorithm a couple of months ago.

Compete, Quantcast and RealRank have emerged with time as other website traffic comparison services but the question about the accuracy of their stats is still unanswered.

Google has introduced a new feature called Google Trends for Websites which gives a graphical analysis of a website's traffic over a period of time. Like Alexa, you can even compare the traffic stats of two or more websites.

These statistics can be assumed to be more accurate as Google might be secretly using Google Analytics and Search Engine data to calculate the graphs.

For a test I compared Sizlopedia to QuickOnlineTips and surprisingly Google Trends gave the most accurate result. While Alexa, on the other hand, thinks Sizlopedia beats QuickOnlineTips in terms of traffic. How funny is that?

It is still to be kept in mind that advertisers still do care a lot about a blog's Alexa stats. So if you want to get some high-paying advertisers, work a bit on improving your blog's Alexa stats.
