Track Blog Visitors in Real-Time in Wordpress

While searching for some new plugins in the Wordpress Plugins Database I came across a new plugin called Wassup which claims to track blog visitors in real time and provides detailed traffic statistics.

There are other plugins of this kind such as Wordpress Live (reviewed by us) and Firestats which I have tried before but sadly none of them lived up to my expectations.

However, Wassup has got some amazing features and an excellent interface that even beats professional traffic monitoring apps like Woopra. The best part is that it integrates within your Wordpress installation and records all entries to the database.

Below are some of the great features of this plugin:

  • Real-time visitor tracking.
  • Real-time graph plotting based on traffic.
  • Detailed statistics about online visitors including search engine bots, spam-bots and real users.
  • Ability to track referring links and keywords.
  • Spy on visitors in Ajax interface just like “Digg Spy”.
  • IP address tracking and full control on options through the admin menu.

Plus lots more!

The plugin has also got its own official website where you can read more about its installation and usage:

Warning! This plugin makes heavy use of your Wordpress MySQL database so make sure to delete records or set them to autodelete through the options.

looks good but can’t try as it may put more load on the sql database and increase more queries on my shared hosting

It is really a great professional looking real time visitor tracker plugin.
Thanks for sharing this.

looks good..
I’ll surely give it a shot..
currently m happy with Google Analytics. the only missing feature in Google analytics is Hourly visits log.

Thanks for the share.

Nice plugin with great features. Love to have it.

Looks like a good one. Will try it.

Thanks for sharing! Going to try it. :)

looks like a good plugin gona give it a try, is it better than wordpress stats plugin?

I tried this plugin about 6 months ago. I wasn’t too impressed with it.

I have also tried this plugin long ago. The problem with wassup is that it makes my blog twice as heavy. So it loads very slow which is not very good for all my visitors. So I’m using the traditional ways of monitoring traffic like google analytics and wordpress stats and quite content with them.

It is so good but it makes blog too slow. i was dissapointed
