1. It installs things in a wrong way. This can destabilise your system.
2. It adds unknown package repositories. You never know what you’ll get.
3. It installs unstable development versions (nightly builds).
4. If you’ve used the script, we can’t help you at Ubuntu NL. A clean install is the only option.
5. Ultamatix is unnecessary. Everything it does can be done with Ubuntu too on a much safer way, with just a little bit of extra trouble.

As Craig said, do not use Automatix or Ultamatix. Both are highly dangerous to the stability of your system. Most of what it does can be done by going to Applications -> Add/Remove and searching for "restricted" in the box at the top. Hit the checkbox for Ubuntu Restricted Extras. Apply. Wait a bit while it all downloads and installs. The difference is that this way it'll be done *properly*.

This little program could mess up your Ubuntu setup just as well as its predeccesor automatix.

See here: http://www.geekosophical.net/?p=186

I would suggest people read up how to install these apps and codecs the usual way: it's really not that difficult... Mostly just a case of enabling the non-free repositories, then using the package manager to find and install your choices.

All your media codecs etc. can be found in the medibuntu package.

I used Automatix once, and later tried to upgrade Ubuntu and everything broke quite spectacularly(Automatix had messed up all the dependencies). I know now better than to trust a third party script with so much.
