Kiobo is a new social browsing solution that lets users discover new websites based on their interests by learning from the sites they visit. It has got a unique user interface much different than other social browsing solutions like Me.dium and also lets user share the websites they like.
The web service runs on flash and primarily has two parts, one is the main GUI which shows a live social graph of other users discovering and sharing new websites and second is the sidebar which shows your browsing history interests.
As you can see above, the websites are categorized into various tags and the icons around the tag represent real users discovering and sharing new websites. Kiobo automatically displays some of popular tags for you under the home tab, however custom tag filters can be made too.
Clicking a tag will display some of the websites that Kiobo users are currently looking at and by clicking on a user icon, you can see their hot sites, tags of the websites they surf or even become their fan.
One of the very unique features of Kiobo is the site recommendation which suggests you to visit new websites based on your previous browsing history. Kiobo even lets users link their Kiobo account with their favorite social network e.g. Facebook, Orkut thus giving them access to website discovering and sharing interest of their friends.
Privacy is what concerns most users now a days and Kiobo has got all user privacy concerns all under control. Users can set access levels on their browsing history and can also delete it completely.

This sounds exactly like Me.dium in that is using a social graph to show where others are surfing. Kiobo doesn’t offer a chatting interface which, I feel, takes away from the social aspect of it. Someone can become a surfing fan of another, but there won’t truly be any communication between the two of them. It has some very interesting options, although it is really lacking the social aspects that other companies are offering.
