I'm all for the speed features... but web applications? One of the reasons why Windows and Mac OS X are so much slower than Linux is because they seem to think web apps make good apps. In my opinion, I'd rather Ubuntu never gets this feature. If it's going to be as badly implemented as web applications usually are, I think I might finally switch to Slackware.

"and most importanly web applications. Windows and Mac have already blurred the line between desktop and web applications and now perhaps its time for Linux to be a part of the show."

*throws up*

My nightmares made reality!

The day our desktops completely become fullscreen web browsers, I'll have to decide between not touching a computer again, sticking to the currently-available software and never upgrading again, or suicide.

I'm definitely looking forward to an improvement in boot speed.

I'm dual-booting Kubuntu 8.04 with XP right now and rather disappointed that XP boots much faster.
