The Google G1 Phone for T-Mobile has finally been unveiled at its official launch event. This latest iPhone killer looks very much like the leaked images and videos showed.
It'll be available, SIM locked, starting October 22nd for $179 with a two year contract from T-Mobile. Unlimited Internet with some messaging will be available for $25/month and Unlimited Internet and messaging will be for $35/month. Data plans will require voice plans which will be available separately. It'll be launching in UK early November while in rest of Europe in 2009.

- Ecorio. This application will let you track your carbon foot print and was one of the winners of the Android Developer Challenge.
- BreadCrumbz. This app enables people to create a step-by-step visual map using photos; customers can create their own routes, share them with friends or with the world.
The question is whether G1 will really beat the iPhone or is just another iPhone wannabe?

Neat. Another phone that is limited to just one service provider. which inherently limits the cool factor to less than ‘honorable mention’ status. We are getting hosed.
