Windows Strata, is it Cloud OS by Microsoft?

A week ago we posted news about a new OS being developed by Microsoft, the 'Windows Cloud' OS. Interestingly a recent wave of rumors on the Internet suggest that 'Windows Cloud' OS might actually be called Windows Strata.

Kit Ong and Ling Zheng were fast enough to grab screens of the PDC 2008 sessions cloud and their most unique observation and discovery was the new 'Windows Strata'.

As Long assumes, 'Strata' may refer to the stratosphere, which is the 2nd layer of Earth's atmosphere, just above the clouds hence the codename 'Windows Cloud'.

According to Ballmer, details on the Windows Cloud OS are to be revealed at the Microsoft Professional Developers Conference on October 27. As explained already, Windows Cloud will basically be an OS based on various cloud services.

What makes this rumor even more interesting is that Microsoft has now pulled off the 'Windows Strata' sessions details from the PDC 2008 sessions cloud.

My only suggestion to Microsoft is to not follow Apple's gait of leaking rumors on the Internet before releasing products and services officially. Lets hope Microsoft listens to it.
