There was a significant difference between the two, come along way, and a long way still to go. Very happy with 8.04, with multimedia, fonts etc alot more intergrated than 6.10 was. Ubuntu provided excellant service, for eg, two days before 6.10 reached end-of-life I received security updates. Linux is still evolving and I hope it gets there before Windows7 arrives.
