Everyone seems to be loving the new release of Ubuntu ie Ubuntu 8.10 Intrepid Ibex which launched yesterday. Tout le monde semble aimer la nouvelle version d'Ubuntu Ubuntu Intrepid Ibex 8.10 à savoir qui a lancé hier.

It is a lot more secure and stable as compared to previous releases of Ubuntu. C'est beaucoup plus sûr et plus stable par rapport aux précédentes versions d'Ubuntu. What I personally liked so far is the new 'Carry on a USB' feature which lets you download and install Ubuntu via a USB flash drive instead of burning it to a CD. Personnellement, j'ai bien aimé ce jour est la retenue »à la fonctionnalité, un clavier USB" qui vous permet de télécharger et d'installer Ubuntu via un lecteur flash USB au lieu de la graver sur un CD.

Here I have a little tutorial on how to install Ubuntu 8.10 via USB Flash Drive. Ici, j'ai un petit tutoriel sur la façon d'installer Ubuntu 8.10 via USB Flash Drive. I used the same tutorial to install Ubuntu on my Acer laptop without writing or burning it to a CD. J'ai utilisé le même tutoriel pour installer Ubuntu sur mon portable Acer sans écriture ou de la graver sur un CD.

All you will be requiring is the Ubuntu 8.10 ISO which can be downloaded from Tout ce que vous exigera la Ubuntu 8.10 ISO qui peut être téléchargé à partir http://ubuntu.com/ http://ubuntu.com/ and a USB flash drive with at least 1GB of memory. et un lecteur flash USB avec au moins 1 Go de mémoire.

Here is what you need to do. Voici ce que vous devez faire.

  1. Connect your USB flash drive to your PC and format it in FAT32 by right clicking it and selecting format. Connectez votre lecteur flash USB à votre PC et le formater en FAT32 par droit-cliquant dessus et en sélectionnant le format.

  5. Once the script has finished, restart your PC and set your BIOS or Boot Menu to boot from the USB device, save your changes and reboot. Une fois le script est terminé, redémarrez votre ordinateur et configurer votre BIOS ou menu de démarrage pour amorcer sur le périphérique USB, enregistrez vos modifications et redémarrez.

If everything goes well, you should now be able to test the LiveCD version of Ubuntu 8.10 Intrepid Ibex and even install it. Si tout se passe bien, vous devriez maintenant être en mesure de tester la version LiveCD de Ubuntu 8.10 Intrepid Ibex et installer même pas. This method is non-persistant so it won't save any changes you make while running Ubuntu in the LiveCD mode. Cette méthode est non-persistant afin de ne pas enregistrer les modifications que vous apportez tout en exécutant Ubuntu en mode LiveCD.

  • How do you make the install to USB...persistent? Comment pouvez-vous faire l'installation à l'USB ... persistant? In other words, where changes you make on the live session are saved to USB? I wouldn't say that...I haven't upgraded yet because, if you check the Ubuntu Forums, you will see that for many people this release broke their entire ubuntu installation and they can't even get a graphical GUI now. Je ne dirais pas que ... je n'ai pas encore mis à niveau parce que, si vous vérifiez les forums Ubuntu, vous verrez que pour beaucoup de gens ce communiqué rompu leur installation ubuntu ensemble et ils ne peuvent même pas obtenir une interface graphique maintenant.

    So backup and be prepared before updating to this new version... Donc, de sauvegarde et de se préparer avant la mise à jour vers cette nouvelle version ...

    Well, I had a look at the tutorials on Eh bien, j'ai eu un coup d'oeil sur les tutoriels http://www.pendrivelinux.com/ http://www.pendrivelinux.com/ and they seem to aim at installing Ubuntu *ON* a USB stick, rather than *FROM* it. et ils semblent viser à l'installation d'Ubuntu * ON * une clé USB, plutôt que * FROM * it.

    Of course, the Live Desktop CD also lets you install the system onto a HDD, but the Alternate ISO is not for a Live CD, I just need it to install Kubuntu onto an encrypted HDD.   • Can it be installed within XP, and also i have a wireless connection, and its not hooking up to download its resources. Peut-il être installé dans XP, et j'ai également une connexion sans fil, et son accrochage pas de télécharger ses ressources.
