Everyone seems to be loving the new release of Ubuntu ie Ubuntu 8.10 Intrepid Ibex which launched yesterday. Iedereen lijkt te zijn liefdevolle de nieuwe release van Ubuntu namelijk Ubuntu 8.10 Intrepid Ibex, die gisteren van start.

It is a lot more secure and stable as compared to previous releases of Ubuntu. Het is veel veiliger en stabieler in vergelijking met vorige versies van Ubuntu. What I personally liked so far is the new 'Carry on a USB' feature which lets you download and install Ubuntu via a USB flash drive instead of burning it to a CD. Wat ik persoonlijk vond tot nu toe is de nieuwe 'Carry on voorzien van een USB', die kun je downloaden en installeren van Ubuntu via een USB flash drive in plaats van branden op een cd.

Here I have a little tutorial on how to install Ubuntu 8.10 via USB Flash Drive. Hier heb ik een kleine tutorial over hoe je Ubuntu 8.10 installeren via USB Flash Drive. I used the same tutorial to install Ubuntu on my Acer laptop without writing or burning it to a CD. Ik gebruikte de zelfde tutorial om Ubuntu te installeren op mijn Acer laptop zonder schriftelijk of branden op een cd.

All you will be requiring is the Ubuntu 8.10 ISO which can be downloaded from Alles wat je nodig zal zijn is de Ubuntu 8.10 ISO die kunnen worden gedownload van http://ubuntu.com/ http://ubuntu.com/ and a USB flash drive with at least 1GB of memory. en een USB flash drive met minimaal 1 GB geheugen.

Here is what you need to do. Hier is wat je moet doen.

  1. Connect your USB flash drive to your PC and format it in FAT32 by right clicking it and selecting format. Sluit uw USB flash drive op uw pc en formatteren in FAT32 door rechts te klikken en het selecteren van formaat.
  2. Download the Download de Ubuntu 8.10 conversion script Ubuntu 8.10 conversie script and execute it. en het uitvoeren. A folder named Ubuntu810 shall be created. Een map met de naam Ubuntu810 wordt gecreëerd.

  5. Once the script has finished, restart your PC and set your BIOS or Boot Menu to boot from the USB device, save your changes and reboot. Zodra het script klaar is, start je pc en zet je BIOS of Boot menu op te starten vanaf het USB-apparaat, slaat u uw wijzigingen op en reboot.

If everything goes well, you should now be able to test the LiveCD version of Ubuntu 8.10 Intrepid Ibex and even install it. Als alles goed gaat, moet u nu in staat zijn om de LiveCD test versie van Ubuntu 8.10 Intrepid Ibex en zelfs installeren. This method is non-persistant so it won't save any changes you make while running Ubuntu in the LiveCD mode. I wouldn't say that...I haven't upgraded yet because, if you check the Ubuntu Forums, you will see that for many people this release broke their entire ubuntu installation and they can't even get a graphical GUI now. Ik zou niet zeggen dat ... ik nog niet bijgewerkt, want als u de Ubuntu Forums, zult u zien dat voor veel mensen deze release brak hun hele ubuntu installatie en ze kunnen niet eens een grafische GUI nu.

    So backup and be prepared before updating to this new version... Dus back-up en worden voorbereid voordat update naar deze nieuwe versie ...

    Well, I had a look at the tutorials on Nou, ik had een blik op de lessen over http://www.pendrivelinux.com/ http://www.pendrivelinux.com/ and they seem to aim at installing Ubuntu *ON* a USB stick, rather than *FROM* it. en ze lijken te zijn gericht op het installeren van Ubuntu * ON * een USB-stick, in plaats van * FROM * het.

    Of course, the Live Desktop CD also lets you install the system onto a HDD, but the Alternate ISO is not for a Live CD, I just need it to install Kubuntu onto an encrypted HDD.   • Can it be installed within XP, and also i have a wireless connection, and its not hooking up to download its resources. Kan worden geïnstalleerd in XP, en ook ik heb een draadloze verbinding, en zijn niet aansluiten van haar middelen te downloaden.
