Everyone seems to be loving the new release of Ubuntu ie Ubuntu 8.10 Intrepid Ibex which launched yesterday. Todo mundo parece estar amando a nova versão do Ubuntu ou seja, o Ubuntu 8.10 Intrepid Ibex, que lançou ontem.

It is a lot more secure and stable as compared to previous releases of Ubuntu. É muito mais seguro e estável em relação a versões anteriores do Ubuntu. What I personally liked so far is the new 'Carry on a USB' feature which lets you download and install Ubuntu via a USB flash drive instead of burning it to a CD. Here I have a little tutorial on how to install Ubuntu 8.10 via USB Flash Drive. Aqui eu tenho um pequeno tutorial sobre como instalar o Ubuntu 8.10 via USB Flash Drive. I used the same tutorial to install Ubuntu on my Acer laptop without writing or burning it to a CD. All you will be requiring is the Ubuntu 8.10 ISO which can be downloaded from Tudo o que você estará exigindo é o Ubuntu 8.10 ISO que pode ser descarregado a partir http://ubuntu.com/ http://ubuntu.com/ and a USB flash drive with at least 1GB of memory. e uma unidade flash USB com pelo menos 1GB de memória.

  5. Once the script has finished, restart your PC and set your BIOS or Boot Menu to boot from the USB device, save your changes and reboot. If everything goes well, you should now be able to test the LiveCD version of Ubuntu 8.10 Intrepid Ibex and even install it. I wouldn't say that...I haven't upgraded yet because, if you check the Ubuntu Forums, you will see that for many people this release broke their entire ubuntu installation and they can't even get a graphical GUI now.     Of course, the Live Desktop CD also lets you install the system onto a HDD, but the Alternate ISO is not for a Live CD, I just need it to install Kubuntu onto an encrypted HDD.
