If you are planning to get your hands dirty on the new Windows 7 Pre-beta build, beware that it will automatically expire after a trial period of 30 days. Unless you attended the PDC 2008 and got an activation key, there is no method to activate Windows 7 forever yet but what we can do is extend the trial time period from 30 to 90 days which is way enough as we shall soon have Windows 7 Beta in our hands in almost less than 2 months. This is the same hack used by most users to reset the activation expiry date twice in Windows Vista Pre-Beta and luckily it works for Windows 7 too. Este es el mismo truco utilizado por la mayoría de los usuarios para restablecer la fecha de caducidad en dos ocasiones en la activación de Windows Vista Pre-Beta y, afortunadamente, funciona para Windows 7 también.

Here is what you need to do. Esto es lo que tiene que hacer.

  1. Download Windows 7 Pre-beta Descargar Windows 7 pre-beta and burn the ISO to a DVD. y quemar la ISO en un DVD.
  2. Install Windows 7 Pre-beta using the DVD and while installation make sure to not put any activation key. Instalar Windows 7 pre-beta con el DVD de instalación y al mismo tiempo, asegúrese de no poner ninguna clave de activación.
  3. Once the installation is complete, open Command Prompt. Una vez completada la instalación, abra Símbolo del sistema.
  4. Type any of the following three commands. Tipo de cualquiera de los siguientes tres comandos.
    sysprep /generalize or slmgr.vbs –rearm or rundll32 slc.dll,SLReArmWindows Sysprep / generalizar o slmgr.vbs rearmar o rundll32 slc.dll, SLReArmWindows
  5. Hit Enter Pulse Enter
  6. Reboot Windows 7 and enjoy another 30 days of free trial. Reinicie Windows 7 y disfrutar de otros 30 días de prueba gratuita.

Note : This method only works twice so make sure to use it only when your 30 day trial period is about to expire. Nota: Este método sólo funciona dos veces así que asegúrese de usarlo sólo cuando su período de 30 días de prueba está a punto de expirar.

  • btw, the slmgr.vbs -rearm also works in wndows vista for extending the trial period by 30 days, and is reusable 3 times for a total of 90 days :)... BTW, el slmgr.vbs rearmar también trabaja en Wndows Vista para ampliar el período de prueba por 30 días, y es reutilizable 3 veces por un total de 90 días :)... and that windows7 is based on vista ;) windows7 y que se basa en Vista;)

    Does it tell you that you only have x number of days left? Qué le dice que usted sólo tiene x número de días que quedan?
    If it doesnt then microsoft gives you a key when you download it from their site. Si no está de entonces, Microsoft le da una clave a la hora de descargarlo de su sitio.
