Microsoft has planned a very well roadmap for the Windows 7 development time-line and as I see it, this OS will give users the satisfaction that Vista failed to offer.
So far we have witnessed some amazing new features and improvements in Windows 7 and we are certain that there is more to come. A while ago we previewed the Windows 7 Pre-beta build which gave us a good insight to its development but as time progresses, we should be setting our focus to the Windows 7 Beta release.
Some rumors on the Internet say that Windows 7 Beta shall be announced by Steve Ballmer during his keynote at CES 2009 while Rafael assumes that Windows 7 download will be available before January 5th. Though no official release dates have been announced by Microsoft yet.
As a followup to the discussion, here is a screenshot of the Windows 7 Post-beta built revealed by a Microsoft employee recently on his blog.

It certainly doesn't reveal whether Windows 7 will do wonders but at least it gives us an insight into the development and operations of Windows 7 (note the Live Mesh styled folders and the Twitter widget).
We shall be posting a download link for the Windows 7 Beta as soon it's released and we get our hands on it. And of course there will be a preview and a showcase of exclusive screenshots so stay tuned.
