If you are looking to record or watch TV shows directly from your browser, check out DV Scheduler. It's a great application that lets you view, stream or record TV, supports  DVB-C, DVB-S, DVB-T, analogue TV, FM radio, USB cameras, and other DirectShow enabled devices. Once installed it allows control and use of the capture devices through a standard web browser, either locally or through a network or internet. It utilizes your Graphics card, your internet connection (Mostly depends on it) and works fine with Windows, Linux and Mac.

Moreover, it also supports Sub-titles that is if you are using Media player classic, if you're not, you can try ffdshow or DirectVobSub filters. Though, do a check if your current media player supports them, if not, I would recommend that you should go with Media player classic. With DV Scheduler, you can also capture screens.

Main Features include:

• Unrestricted multiple recording, viewing, and streaming of channels in the same frequency multiplex with one capture card. Multiple recording, viewing, and streaming of different channels in the same frequency multiplex will use only one card, optimizing card usage.
• Watch TV locally and over a network/LAN. The TV client is multi-platform including Windows, Linux and Mac.

• Capture engine(s) used are configurable, allowing use of different capture engines.
