DestroyTwitter, An Addictive new Twitter Client

destroytwitter-dockAdobe AIR based Twitter clients are very much in these days. Though everyone tries to make a mark, most of them fail to shine, and that's because they fail to pay attention to finer details.

DestroyTwitter comes as an exception to this class. Even though it is based on Adobe AIR and has a smaller feature set than most popular Adobe AIR based clients, DestroyTwitter has one great advantage. It is Addictive.

The official beta was announced a few days back on DestroyToday, the official site for the app. It was followed by some very positive response from the community about the beta, though it had some issues.

destroy-twitterThe most interesting feature of DestroyTwitter is the smooth UI animation, which adds no processing loads even on a low end CPU (I had even tested on a 550 MHz Pentium III). Everything is arranged in panels and the interface flies around to bring focus on the requested area.

It has all standard features you would expect including Posting Tweets, Auto reload, Reply, Search, Direct Messaging, Profile View, and Favorite Tweets. And even adds some surprise candy like Conversation View and Twitter Account modifications. URL shortening via TinyURL is also supported. Though I still some features from TweetDeck, like TwitPic, Spellcheck, Tweet Shortening and Retweeting (all these are coming in the next version though), I am amazed by the amazing performance and low memory utilization.

It wont be right to compare it with other more established clients like TweetDeck (which still hasn't reached its version 1.0 though) as this is a very early release, and the developer had jumped to squash most bugs in this version for the next release.

I would recommend everyone to give this Client a try if others like Witty, TweetDeck and Twhirl are too heavy for you.
