In rare cases do we see phones and gadgets bring in such an innovation that leads to consumers calling it as 're-inventing technology'.
Such an innovation was brought about almost two years ago when Apple announced the iPhone and after a long wait, it seems that Palm is introducing a likewise new innovation with its new Palm Pre.
Palm Pre is an innovative new smartphone and media-device that may give Apple iPhone run for its money (though not truly possible as we have already witnessed how other iPhone-competitor smartphones have performed). It boasts a 3.1-inch multitouch display screen with a vibrant 320x480 resolution. Much like the iPhone, it features only one-roller button on the surface which brings up the home screen.
Other features include support for EvDO, WiFi, GPS, Bluetooth, 3 megapixel camera and 8GB of internal storage memory.
What I personally found amazing in the new Palm Pre is the new Wireless Charging through magnetic induction and the new WebOS platform it is running on. According to Palm, the new WebOS makes it easy for anyone to develop applications for the Palm Pre as long as one is skilled with HTML and CSS (A brilliant call for all web developers).
Also there is a web browser on board with Chrome-like memory management and a new system called 'Synergy' which automatically pulls your contacts information and avatars from services such as Facebook and Google Talk.

As for the price, Palm CEO believes the Pre to be a better product than iPhone so for as far as we know, it won't come for a price tag as low as $200. It will be available shortly with Sprint carrier.
