Google Android G2 Leaked Photos

Among all the things Sizlopedia, is known for, Gadgets and Open Source software take the top spot. And what happens when you marry these two? You get the Google Android powered smartphones by HTC.

Their first attempt with mix, the HTC T-Mobile G1, didn't quite catch the spark and get a big fan following. And even though Google announced an unlocked Android G1 around the 2008 holidays, people still preferred the iPhone 3G.

But this may soon change, as Gizmodo uncovered some leaked photos of a new handset which appear to be quite authentic.

The first thing you would notice here is its shiny plastic finish, which is very much welcoming from the pale gray look on G1. Also this time around there is not physical keyboard present, which is a little disappointing. Though the touchscreen is large, but we know the current Android interface had some issues.

The back side has a new surprise A 3.2 Mega Pixel camera, though even mid range phones for vendors like Nokia boast a 5.0 Mega Pixel camera these days. What would be interesting is the video capabilities of the G2 (if there are any).

The current rumors suggest that this handset would hit the shelves this summer though there are still no official announcement. What I would personally like to see is a prettier interface than the current one, but all we can do for now is wait for the official word on the release.

Ok, the G1 is ugly, the G2...even worse.

Come on HTC, i own an HTC touch diamond and despite windows mobile being rubbish the phone looks awesome. HTC has a history of making good looking phones, but when they release the G1 which has been eagerly awaited they build the ugliest handset they can think of.

Add some more features (video capture etc) and put it on a decent handset THEN you've got a true iPhone killer.
