Check Windows Startup Speed with BootRacer

Just confronted a small utility for Windows that allows you to check Windows startup speed. Once BootRacer is installed on your computer, simply click on the Race it button when the main window appears. Set up your options and restart your computer.

If your computer boot time is less than one minute you got nothing to worry about. BootRacer installs itself as a service by checking the processor load during startup and stopping when measuring low activity range.

Key benefits of BootRacer include

  • Easy in installation and use.
  • Automatically checks your boot speed at every boot.
  • BootRacer is able to detect Time to Logon and Total Time to Desktop.
  • BootRacer uses minimum of your computer resources.
  • BootRacer logs all results to own event log. You can check events using Windows Event Viewer.
  • BootRacer automatically calculates the Best Boot Time.
  • BootRacer is free for non-commercial use.

If BootRacer doesn't display boot time properly, it's probably because you're no using the standard Windows shell. BookRacer requires Windows Explorer. Other than that, BootRacer won't be able to detect your Windows boot time if your computer is slow and free CPU time is always less then normal. Click on the Advanced button. Choose "Sensitive level" and try again.

Note that BootRacer can be set to run just one time only or every time Windows starts. For using BootRacer you need:

  1. A personal computer with Windows XP/2003/Vista/2008 or higher.
  2. The amount of disk space you need to install BootRacer is approximately 3 MB.
  3. The memory requirements BootRacer are similar to those for your operating system.

When it finishes, the window closes automatically. I can't see the result not even after going in Advance > Display Last Result.

is this some kind of a bug or wat?
