Facebook recently updated its Homepage layout to a new one which is not being liked by most of the users, and even by some of the Facebook employees themselves.
The new homepage makes Facebook look nothing like a social network, rather more of a spam-zone where random stories, notes and links are being published by your friends and unfortunately there is no way to control it. Also new changes in the UI such as deeper fonts, a three-column layout and rounded profile pictures just contribute more to the ugliness of this new layout.
While we may not help you in completely reverting back to the old layout, we still have a couple of hacks for you to get the old-style two-column layout on the homepage, along with full square-shaped profile pictures.
All you need to do is install the following two userscripts on Firefox.
Greasemonkey addon for Firefox is essentially required to run these userscripts. Once installed, these scripts will provide you with an almost old Facebook Homepage layout feel so you don’t have to curse the Facebook authorities again for introducing the new design.
Take a look at my current Facebook profile with these scripts installed!
Sadly! it doesn’t get any closer than that to the old Facebook homepage layout. Enjoy and spread the word.
