From what we have been listening to lately, it is quite significant that HP is interested in making Netbooks based on the mobile OS by Google known as Android but according to a recent report, it seems like HP might not be the only one looking forward to explore the Android OS on Netbooks.
A press-release made by a company named BSquare reveals that it is working on a system to use certain Adobe software on the yet unannounced 'Dell Netbooks running the Google OS'.
Although the press-release was later termed as 'erraneous' by both Dell and BSquare, however the fact that no party denied the content of the press-release gives us a hint that Dell might actually be planning to launch Netbooks running the Android OS soon.
The reason why Android remains an attractive piece of OS for most Netbook makers is because of its ability to run in an environment which is independant of Microsoft and Intel and also because it is absolutely open-source and free.
Exploring the Android OS on Netbooks may help vendors in getting indepence from the Windows-monoply by Microsoft.
