Unfortunately this solution is not applicable for 3.1 official firmware :((.

I have bought iphone appel 8GB, used one from Germany and now in Egypt, it seems to be locked, it doesnt work with any of the local networks,
It is with the following specification:
Version 3.1 (7C144)
Carrier T-mobile 5.0
Model MB217D
Modem Firmware 04.05.04_G

I don not know if it is out of box V3.1 or it was upgraded to V3.1 .

will you ,or anyone help me to unlock it ?

bro it all a con dev team work with apple to stuff people around ask yourself this why do you have to pay for the lateset release of redsnow(ulrasnow). All the torrents except 1 don't work and the 1 that does is encrpted and the site you are supposed to get the password from is a bogus site as it will ask for you phone number then spam sms messages at $3.50 per message and you will still not get the password . You bought a iphone i think that is real funny. Welcome to the world of rip off(apple). Whant more proof your being riped off All Apple computers have intel cpu, nvida graphic cards and yet you pay 2x the price for all there computers . Save yourself money bro buy nokia phones and build yourself a computer and run windows hell you don't even need to buy windows there are plenty of hacked versions on the net trust me i have latest softwhere from microsoft and for last 10 years have not had to pay for any off it and they all work ok even pass microsoft genuine advantage . Appl are great at ripping people off they have been doing it for 20 years now . They would not have changed to intel chips if there hardwhere was so good just now they make more money as the con is better now .good luck

But i have a question to make;

I was reading one of your recent blog post here http://www.sizlopedia.com/2009/10/19/hacktivate... and there you said we have to follow from instruction 3 to unlock 3gs, but here on this post at the end you said "And the method is not recommended to unlock an iPhone 3GS.", please make it clear as i have done the upgrading thing and now stuck with on how to unlock it, i'm on 3.1.2 now !

typical you have to by the latest version of ultrasnow (resnow ) then apple release a new version as update then dev team release a new version which you have to pay and on and on it goes when are you alll going to relies that dev team work with apple .Like all things apple they try to rip you off . Ask yourself this why do you have to buy the latest verison of redsnow(ultrasnow) but all the older copys are still on the net .......TO RIP YOU OFF

Does anyone with 2G 1.1.2 OS successfully unlocked with this solution? I have seen some pepole here complaining about having to pay to download ultrasnOw, does this proceed?
