New iPod Touch and Nano to Get a Camera, Or Not?

Previously there have been reports about new iPod Touch getting a camera and a mic, but it looks like that the iPod Touch isn't the only device that Apple plans to update with a camera, but the Nano too.

The evidence comes from some of the photos posted by Cult of Mac which are being labeled as the photos of the new cases for the upcoming iPod Touch and Nano. The new cases make us believe that the new iPod Touch and Nano will both be getting a camera, which coincides with one of the rumors published by us a couple of days ago.

The cases have been made by Chinese manufacturers and since the hardware for iPods is assembled in China, this could be the real deal. Though we still believe that it could be some prank, as earlier this year we got to see similar cases of a supposed iPhone Nano but that was all a hoax.

Another interesting point to note is that, as the new cases suggest, the camera on the iPod Touch will be in the center and not offset like the camera in the iPhone.

Hoax or real? you decide!

  • I have the 2nd generation iPod Touch and the only thing I would like to see added is a camera. I have no pressing need (there is a want) for constant connectivity. My office, home, and local café have Wi-Fi and that works well enough for me. With the addition of a camera I would be able to take those “around town” photos without the need to carry around my Nikon.
  • Hoax I believe.
  • A part of it however makes me think it could be true

    what good would it be to have a digital camera with no lcd?

    the itardation is getting more severe
